      Charles "Freddy" Epperson, 67, of Friendswood, TX passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Charlie, to friends/Freddy, to family, was born in Houston, and resided in the Houston area his entire life. Charlie loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He is survived by family and friends including his wife, Barbara; his two daughters, Christa and Tiffani; four sisters, Kathy, Carol, Mary, Roberta "Robbi"; and brother, Jay; their spouses, his three grandchildren Zachary, Addison and Macon, numerous nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. Charles retired from the Houston Police Department in 2004 after 36 years of service. Charles received recognition from the Houston Chronicle in 1993 for his work within the HPD employment division as a background investigator. Charles also received a "Chief's Commendation" for his work within a newly created Positive Interaction Program that brought the police department, citizens, and communities together. A memorial service will be held at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200 on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10 A.M. with Rev. Monty Montgomery officiating. The family appreciates those wishing to show their condolences and suggests that any donations be made to the American Diabetes Association at http://www.diabetes.org/.
