  Obituary: JoAnn Madden, 41-year resident of Julian, CA passed away peacefully in her home on January 10, 2011 with family by her side. Born in McMillian, OK on January 25,1936 to Charles and Maggie Crow; she was the youngest daughter of nine siblings. She moved to Pasco, WA as a young adult and attended area schools until her graduation for Pasco High in 1954, were she was a Pasco High Majorette. Shortly after graduation she moved to California were she met and married her husband Roy S. Madden on April 12, 1958, together they moved to Julian, CA in 1969 and raised their four boys. JoAnn enjoyed working out doors with her lilacs; she loved playing tennis, spending time with her friends and was an avid artist. She also enjoyed traveling; in 2008 she and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by traveling to the Grand Canyon via train with her close friends and her family. She was a grand homemaker and wonderful mother. She was known to always have open arms for her children and their friends, providing many dinners, rides to school functions and attending many sporting games. She leaves behind her husband of almost 53 years, Roy S. Madden, her children Michael R. Madden and his fiancé Patrizia Diramio of Boston, Ma., Patrick G. Madden and his wife Rhona of Castro Valley, Ca., Brian J. Madden and wife Cecelia of South Mills, NC. And Daniel F. Madden and his wife Jennifer of Woodland, Ca. Five grandchildren Norman, Amber, Briana, Justin and Matthew Madden. She also survived by her four siblings, Glenda Reigh of Admore, OK., Donald Crow of Kennewick, Wa., Helen Dorrego of Pasco, WA. and Charles Crow of Kewaskum, WI. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Maggie Crow and four siblings Grady "Toss" Crow, Theda Goggans, Madge Turner and Mildred "Millie" Pastore-Rose. A Memorial Celebration of life will be held at the home of Carol Comstock and John Barnes, dear family friends. 4685 Quiet Oaks Trail, Julian Ca. from 1 pm to 4 pm, Saturday, January 15, 2011 Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
