Connie Brooks was born on December 17, 1948 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Cecil and Mozell Sanders. She married Ernie Brooks on June 24, 1999 in Wilson, Oklahoma. She was a lifetime resident of Lindsay and a graduate of Lindsay High School. She worked as a hairdresser for thirty-eight years. Connie enjoyed playing Bunco with her Bunco girls, playing games with her family and spending time with her grandkids. She passed from this life on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at her home at the age of 65. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends who loved her.
Connie is survived by her husband, Ernie Brooks of Lindsay, Oklahoma, her daughter Tisha Ford of Lindsay, Oklahoma, her son, Bobby Shelton of Springer, Oklahoma, one granddaughter, Keely Ford of Lindsay, Oklahoma and one grandson, Bryan Shelton of Springer, Oklahoma.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mozell Sanders and one sister, Patsy Ann Webb.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks are set for ten o'clock a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Erin Springs Baptist Church, located South of Lindsay, Oklahoma on Highway 76, with Pastor Clay Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. On the evening prior to the service, Wednesday, August 27, 2014, the family will be present for a visitation from six o'clock to eight o'clock p.m. at B. G. Boydston Funeral Home, 308 S.W. 3rd Street in Lindsay, OK. Services are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Stephenson Cancer Center, 800 NE 10th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104. Make check payable to University of Oklahoma Foundation, and include Connie Brooks name on the check.
