    • Obituary:

Phillip Douglas Crow, 76, passed away January 23rd, 2017 due to complications from pneumonia.

Phillip was born on March 28th, 1940 in Belleflower, IL. He found a passion for reading, bowling, movies, construction and a love for traveling. Phil took up residence in New Orleans, California, Indiana and Key West, but two places found a special place in his heart; St Petersburg, where he found his extended family, Edward W. Kaspar and Evelyn Kaspar; and Manahattan, NY, where he met John Engelke, with who he spent 37 loving and dedicated years until John's death in October 2007 to cancer.

Phil worked as a courier for Drs. Babat and Katz as well as St. Pete MRI, where he retired. He was known to all as the one to call when a friend was needed. Phil will always be loved and missed by his sisters, Helen Chmielewski and Lou Ellen Sears, both of Indianapollis, IN, in addition to many loving nieces & nephews.

Phil was a longtime friend of Lakewood United Church of Christ at 2601 54th Avenue South, St Petersburg, FL 33712, where a memorial service will be held to celebrate Phil's life on February 11th, 2017 at 11:00 am.

David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family.
