  Obituary: OMA L. BARKS Oma L. Barks, 74, of Burfordville, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 1995, at the family home. She was born Sept. 22, 1921 in Nimmons, Ark., daughter of the late Elain and Lena Crow Gattis. She first married Lucas Simmons who died July 19, 1946. On Jan. 18, 1950 she married John "Lowell" Barks, who survives. She was a member of the Shawnee Church of Christ in Jackson. She is also survived by four sons; five daughters; a brother, Frank Gattis of Dallas, six sisters, Polly Owens, Brenda Burgass and Fannie Gattis, all of Piggott, Ark., Dorothy Owens of Nimmons, Faye Simmons of East Alton, Ill., and JoAnn Paris of Kennett; 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Liley Funeral Home of Marble Hill was in charge of arrangements. Funeral services were in the chapel with Jerry Culbertson and John Stinnett officiating. Burial was at Bollinger County Memorial Park near Marble Hill. (Published in The Southeast Missourian in October 1995)
