Notes - Obituary:
Denzil Gattis, son of Lena Gattis and the late Elaine Gattis, was born February 22, 1937 and passed away at the Corning Hospital November 17, 1981 at the age of 44 years.
He was united in marriage to Carolyn Niswonger September 30, 1970. To this union three children were born.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and children, Rebecca, Daniel and Shelly of the home; his mother, Lena Gattis; one brother, Frankie; seven sisters: Oma Barks, Polly Owen, Faye Simmons, Dorothy Owen, Jo Ann Parrish, Brenda Burris, and Fannie Gattis; and many other relatives and friends.
He was a minister and attended the Assembly of God Church.
Funeral was Thursday November 19, 1981 at 2:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Rev. Silas Goodman and Rev. Raymond Avery officiating. Burial was in Nimmons Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Harmon, Bill Dunaway, Lee Daffron, Luther Simmons, Mickey Owen and Gary Redman.
