PAYNE, Charles Robert, 50, of Austin died Monday. Services 3 p.m. today, Cook-Walden/Lamar Funeral Home. Burial Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.

- Obituary:
Charles R. Payne, age 50, of Austin, passed away on Monday, May 17, 1999.
Charles was retired from the Texas Army National Guard, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed bowling at Highland Lanes, and was retired from IBM.
He was preceded in death by sons, Joseph R. Payne, and twins, Allen and Adam Payne.
Charles is survived by a son, Jason R. Payne and wife, Melissa; mother, Lenora Payne; sisters, Mary Roberts and Opal Culp, all of Austin; brother, John Payne and wife, Ann, of Cedar Park; and a half sister, Connie Illey, of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 1999 in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, Lamar location. Interment, with full military honors, to follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sandbach and Dr. Hoverman and all the nurses and staff at Texas Oncology.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be sent to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd., $100, Austin, TX 78759.
