  Obituary: Robert G. "Bob" Campbell was born August 2, 1939 in Shreveport, LA, to James Birchfield and Callie Mae (Lunsford) Campbell. Robert passed away on December 14, 2021. He touched so many lives as a preacher, educator, friend, and mentor, showing genuine love, friendship and care for others. Bob served in many roles throughout his time as a minister, most notably as Senior Minster at Northwest Baptist Church in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Calvary Baptist Church in Garland, Texas, and Westbury Baptist Church, in Houston Texas. He served as both Chairman of the Executive Board and President of the Baptist General Convention of Texas during a key moment in its history before retiring from the ministry to teach seminary classes for B.H. Carroll Theological Institute. Of all the roles on this earth, none brought him greater joy than Husband, Father, and Grandpa. He loved his family deeply and unconditionally. Upon his passing, he was reunited with his great love of 58 years, Judy Campbell. Robert is survived by his son, Michael Campbell, his wife Karin, and their four children: Matthew, Grace, Rachel, and Nathan; by his daughter, Michelle Zimmerman, her husband, David, and their two children: Katy and Emily; by his, brother-in-law, Rev. Jerry Jacobs and sister-in-law Susan and their two children: Lauren and Austin; Sister-in-law Betty Campbell; and nephew, James Birchfield (Amanda) Campbell III. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother James Birchfield Campbell Jr. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old St Rd 37 Bloomington With Rev Jerry Jacobs officiating, Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be made in memory of Robert to your own church or charity of your choice. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
