• Notes

  Obituary: HENDERSON - Services for Bruce C. Phenix Sr., 92, Henderson, are set for 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of the First Baptist Church in Henderson with Dr. Hugh L. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park in Henderson. Mr. Phenix died Friday morning at a nursing home in Henderson after a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 31, 1888, in Alvin, and lived eight years in Henderson. He was a display manager at a department store. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson, where he was a deacon. He attended Baylor University. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. June Phenix of Henderson; two sons, Bruce C. Phenix Jr. of Beaumont and James N. Phenix of Henderson; a brother, Vance Phenix of Houston; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be L.O. Allen, Joe Dyson, Charles Hutto, Ken Phenix, Bob Phenix, Jim Phenix, Rusty Phenix, Rodney Phenix and Terry Mayo. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Noah Batchelor Sunday School Class.
