L. T. Scogin
KERMIT - L.T. "Slick" Scogin, 62, was found dead Thursday at a drilling rig near Mentone.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Cooper Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Dave McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Kermit Cemetery.
Scogin was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Nacogdoches. He was a retired roughneck and had lived in Kermit for 22 years. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Scogin of Kermit; one son, Joe Lee Scogin of Kermit; three daughters, Patricia Wilcox of Carlsbad, N.M., Charlotte Quick and Clara Losoya, both of Kermit; one brother, W.F. Scogin of Port Arthur; one sister, Earlene Sumner of Fredericksburg; and six
grandchildren.
