    • Obituary:

      Dorothy Gehovak Ryder passed away July 19, 2009.

      She was born January 13, 1939 in Willis, TX to Roy Stash Paluka and Anna Florine (Kroll) Paluka.

      Dorothy is survived by son John Gehovak; son Tommy Gehovak; son Steve Gehovak and wife Cheryl; daughter Patricia Backhus and husband Burk; daughter Tammy Gehovak; son Justin Ryder and wife Keshia; brother John Paluka and wife Joan; brother Butch Paluka and wife Edna; sister Annie Mae Snoe; sister Diane Tomczak and husband Marion; 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

      She is preceded in death by parents Roy and Anna Paluka; husband Johnnie Grezhowiak; brother Roy Paluka, Jr.; sister Lucille Kingsbury; and brother Joe Paluka.

      Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, July 21 from 6-8 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis with Rosary beginning at 7 PM.

      Funeral Services officiated by Father Stephen Payne are scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Waverly, with interment following service at Elmina Cemetery in New Waverly.

      The family would like to thank the staff at Southwest Hospice for the care of Dorothy, and a special thank you to friends Andrea, Jackie, Alice, and Arlene.
