• Notes

  Obituary: Lee O. Swain, 94, of 1810 Annie St. NW, a retired engineer with the Southern Railway System, died Thursday in a Marietta hospital. Mr. Swain, a native of Dyersburg, Tenn., had been a resident of Atlanta since 1896. He retired from Southern in 1939 after 45 years with the railroad. He was a member of the Nelms Masonic Lodge No. 323 in Smyrna. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hay-Gantt's chapel in Marietta with the Rev. Claude E. Smithmeier officiating. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, the former Mary (Mamie) Moore; two sons, H. O. Swain, Smyrna, and Wayne F. Swain Sr., Atlanta; two daughters, Mrs. J. H. Huddleston, Atlanta, and Mrs. Marianna Dennis, Auburn, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. Mary T. Wright, Tampa, Fla., and a brother, Willis Swain, Atlanta.
