    • Obituary:

Hampton Bays - Marilyn Ann Horton (Mare) born and raised in White Plains, New York was 56 years old. She died peacefully at home. Marilyn moved full time to Hampton Bays in 2018 after retiring from the Harrison Public Library. She had a career that she loved in the world of books -- she worked as a sales representative for a book fair company, she was a consultant copyreader, and she managed the children's department of a major bookseller. For the last 17 years of her career she was employed as a librarian. Marilyn's true passion, however, the world she was deeply committed to, was the cause of animal rescue. Mare leaves behind her beloved partner, Patty Hammill, two sisters, Susan Horton Polos (Jim) and Jean Horton. Her niece Louisa Condon (Logan), her nephews Thomas Polos (Lizzie) and Wyatt Ivanowski (Kate), and her grandniece Marilou Condon. Donations may be made in her memory to SaveGraysonCoCats.org.
