  Obituary: Robert Swain, age 83, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel at 3pm, with Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge. Mr. Swain retired from The Atlanta Journal Constitution after 46 years. He was a devoted family man who loved golf, GA Tech Football, softball and racing cars. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Swain, daughter, Suzanne & Bryan Bowman, son, Jeffrey & Cathy Swain, grandchildren; Bonnie Bowman and Derrek & Laura Bowman, great-grandchildren; Alexa Griffin, Rylan Tribby, Vivian Bowman and Wesley Bowman, brother, Wayne Swain Jr. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Wayne & Alice Swain Sr. and sister, Nancy Walter. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 4, 2017, from 1 to 3 pm at the funeral home.
