John Bryan Regis Age 54, at rest Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at his home with his family by his side. John is finally at peace after a brave fight against lung cancer. He was born in Joliet to the late John and Kate (Judge) Regis on March 23 1956. He married Patricia M. (nee O'Shea) Regis in 1977, then moving to Elwood in 1985 where they raised two daughters Michelle Marek of Elwood and Lisa (Andy) Syska of Braidwood. John worked at Stepan Chemical for 20 years, he was an Elwood Volunteer fireman, and was on the Elwood Community Day Committee for 16 years. He was a Cubs fan (yeah that's right), an avid NASCAR fan. John is survived by his brothers Jerry (Sylvia) Regis of Plainfield, Mike (Dodie) Regis of Joliet, Tom Regis of Reno NV; nephews Bill Regis of AR, Mark (Marianne) Regis of Plainfield IL; nieces Erin Dzwinel of WI and Sue Regis of Manhattan IL; great-niece and nephew, Lily and Jonathan Dzwinel. A Celebration of John Regis' life will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 with prayers at the funeral home at 10:00 AM, John's Final Ride will be on a Harley to Woodlawn Memorial Park.
