LaVerne More Dies Monday In Electra Hospital
Mrs. LaVerne More, 52, a long time resident of Electra, died Monday, Dec. 28, in Electra Hospital following a long illness.
Born July 23, 1918, in Bismark, Ark., she and her late husband, Robert More, operated a service station here 20 years. He died in March, 1962.
For the past three years Mrs. More was a cashier hostess at Mayo Steak House in Wichita Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the chapel of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. W. G. Etheredge, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in New Electra Cemetery. The family requested that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Research Foundation.
Survivors include one son, William R. More of Palacios, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Ann Smith of Electra; one brother, Ezra Young of Pampa; one sister, Mrs. Raymond Rowe of Olney; and four grandchildren.
