WARFIELD - John Griffith Warfield, 70, of 1314 Tulane, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital. He was a native of Memphis, Tenn., and had lived in Houston for the past 18 years. He was one of the organizers of the Rosewood Park Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Warfield; three daughters, Mrs. B.C. Edwards, Misses Sybil and Lena Mae Warfield all of Houston; two sons, George Warfield of Houston and Ven Warfield of Waco; brother, H.B. Warfield of Houston. Services held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Folge-West Chapel with Rev. J.W.E. Airey, pastor of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers: B.C. Edwards, who is a son-in-law, Kenneth, Edward and Horace Warfield, L.C. Ebling, who are nephews, and Grover Baggett. The family requests friends to please omit flowers. Fogle-West Company directing.
