    Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Mathilda) Hebert, 81, of 210 Louie St. will be at 2 p.m. today, March 26, in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel.

    The Rev. Bill Oakley of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Hebert Cemetery in Iowa.

    Mrs. Hebert died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday in a local nursing home.

    She was born in Hecker and had lived in Lake Charles most of her life. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a member of the LeBleu family, Calcasieu's first settlers.

    Survivors are her husband; two sons, David and Herman Hebert, both of Lake Charles; three daughters, Mrs. L. C. (Nora) Smith of Vidalla, Ga., Mrs. C. D. (Ruby) Hagen of Ragley and Mrs. Aaron (Frankie) Moreau of Lake Charles; one sister, Mrs. Lily Leger of Oberlin; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

    David Hebert, 85, died at 11:46 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, in a local hospital.

    Mr. Hebert was a native and life resident of Lake Charles. He was a carpenter at Cities Service and was a member of Carpenter's Local 953. Mr. Hebert served his country in the Air Force during World War II.

    Mr. Hebert is survived by his daughters, Carol Hedrick and her husband, Hancel, and Judy Greathouse and her husband, Carroll, all of Lake Charles; a son, Robert Hebert and his wife, Kim, of Lake Charles; a brother, Herman Hebert of Lake Charles; and sisters, Ruby Hagen of Ragley and Frankie Moreau of Lake Charles. Mr. Hebert was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Richard Hebert, and a sister, Nora Smith.

    His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Marcus Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, and from 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

    WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - Nora Hebert Smith, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Winter Garden.

    She was born July 29, 1919, in Orange, Texas, to Frank and Mathilda (Jonice) Hebert. She was raised in Lake Charles, where her father was a commercial general contractor. She worked in a defense plant during World War II and later was a substitute teacher in several Florida counties. She married Louis C. Smith on Dec. 8, 1945, and moved to Florida immediately thereafter. They had been married 57 years. She was a graduate of the St. Charles Academy class of 1936. She was an excellent gourmet cook who read cookbooks like novels. She did beautiful detailed French embroidery and hand sewing, which is nearly a lost art today. She was a strong woman who was proud to be Cajun. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Winter Garden. She was a member of Eastern Star for many years.

    She was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin R. Muffley.

    Survivors include her loving husband; two daughters, Mathilda P. Bohanon of Sebring, Fla., and Elizabeth S. Hendrick of Orlando, Fla.; four brothers and sisters, David Hebert and Herman Hebert, and Ruby H. Hagen and Frankie H. Moreau, all of Lake Charles and Ragley; two grandchildren, Katherine H. Strong and David A. Hendrick Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Lee Strong.

    Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, in Beulah Baptist Church in Winter Garden. Pastor Steve Rice will officiate. Burial will be in Winter Garden Cemetery under the direction of Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home in Okeechobee, Fla. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

    Herman Weber Hebert, 82, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, in his residence.

    He was a native of Port Arthur, Texas, and had been a resident of Lake Charles for many years. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, having served in the 376 th bomber division in North Africa. After his military career, he served in the Merchant Marines. He had been a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles for 52 years where he belonged to the auditorium Sunday school class, the October Harvesters, drove the church van for the transportation committee, and was an usher. Herman worked 14 years as a volunteer for Abraham's Tent. He retired in 1984 from Olin Chemical Company after 36 years of service, where he worked in the hydrazine unit. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.

    Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue Hebert of Lake Charles; one son, Kenneth Hebert and his wife, Ellen, of Topsy; two daughters, Debra Pollinger and her husband, John, of Lake Charles, and Lisa Woods and her husband, Larry, of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; two sisters, Ruby Hagen of Ragley and Frankie Moreau of Lake Charles; and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hebert; a brother, David Hebert; two sisters, Nora Smith and Irma Hebert.

    His funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 21, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Dr. John White will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.     She was a native of Lake Charles and a resident of Ragley. Ruby was an active member of Magnolia Baptist Church. She loved to cook, read and spending time with her family.

    On Monday, August 15, 2011, Larry Lloyd Hagen passed unto eternity in the presence of his loved ones. Funeral services will be private and no visitation will be scheduled.

    A native of Southwest Louisiana, he was a decorated Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. Larry spent his most recent years in Montana, working on a ranch. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carol Wears Hagen; his mother, Mrs. C.B. (Ruby) Hagen, Sr. of Ragley. Surviving sisters include Sandy Hagen Byrd (Andy) of Houston, TX and Diana Hagen of Ragley. Surviving brothers, include, C.B. (Butch) Hagen Jr. of Sulphur; sister-in-law, Francis Buford Hagen the wife of the late Gary Wayne Hagen Sr. of Ragley, Frank Hagen (Shirley) of Moss Bluff, Paul Hagen of Ragley and Terry Hagen (Molly) of Moss Bluff; brother-in-law, Bobby Wears (Joyce) of Elk City, OK and Gary Wears (Rhonda) of Perryton, TX.

    He was preceded in death by his sons, Joseph Brian Hagen and Patrick Lee Hagen; father C.B. (Joe) Hagen Sr. and brother, Gary Wayne Hagen Sr.

    Additional surviving loved ones include many nieces and nephews as well as friends and neighbors. Larry will be greatly missed.

    A gathering of friends and family will celebrate Larry's life on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the family home in Ragley from 1-5 p.m.

    Promise Land Church pastor expires

    Pastor of the Promise Land Church in Church Point, Pastor Gary Hagen, Sr., 45, passed away at his home Sunday, September 15, 1997 at 1:25 a.m. He had been in ill health for sometime.

    Pastor Hagen was born Sept. 23, 1951 in Lake Charles and had resided in Ragley, La.

    Services will be held at the Promise Land Church on Wednesday, September 17, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.

    The Promise Land Church was build under Pastor Hagen's guidance.

    The body was laid out at the church on Monday at 5 p.m. and will remain there until time of services. Pastor Randy Clark will officiate at the services.

    Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Hagen, Sr. of Ragley; his wife, Frances Buford Hagen of Church Point; four sons, Scott J. Hagen and Billy J. Hagen both of Lake Charles; Jason P. Hagen and Gary Wayne Hagen, Jr. both of Church Point; five brothers, Clarion Hagen, Jr. of Sulphur; Larry Hagen of Miles City, Montana; Frank Hagen and Terry Hagen both of Moss Bluff and Paul Hagen of Ragley; two sisters, Sandra H.     Sharon Devall, 52, of Lake Charles, LA died on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 in a local hospital.

    Born October 27, 1956, Sharon has lived all of her life in Lake Charles. Her special needs endeared her to all who knew and loved her.

    Sharon is survived by her father and step-mother, Earl Devall, Sr. and wife Joyce; mother, Frankie Hebert Moreau; brothers, Earl Devall, Jr. and wife Pat and Jay Moreau; and sister, Cammie Edmonds and husband Keith; step-brothers, Randall Israel and James Israel and wife Sheila; step-sister, Shelva Reed and husband Jimmie, all of Lake Charles; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hyman and Lucille Benoit Devall and Frank and Mathilda Johnese Hebert.

    Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2009 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Andrew Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Pujol Cemetery in Big Lake, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
