Obituary:

Donald L. Martin, Sr., 78, of Platteville, CO, died Sun. July 6, 2014 at his residence.

He was born July 13, 1935 in Wildhorse, CO to Homer and Francis (Smith) Martin.

Having lived in the Tri-County area his entire life, Don moved to Platteville in 1984. He married Flora "Jean" Bertron in 1992. He worked in the construction industry during his working life, which included a numerous variety of descriptions.

Don loved his family greatly. He enjoyed watching, teaching and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a wonderful relationship with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Martin; Children, Donald (Margit) Martin, Delbert Martin, Deb (Shawn) Huddleston, Darla (Danny) Sebring and Steve (Stephanie) Martin; Step-Children, Michele (Bob) Perry and Michael (Anita) Kenkel; 21 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren; Brothers, Richard N. (Carlene) Martin and Clem (Ardyze) Martin; Sisters, Minne Dysche, Lois Martin and Annalee Dwyer. Don was preceded in death by Brothers, Joseph and Raymond Martin; Sisters, Rozella Macy and Helen Scott.

A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wed., July 9, 2014 at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel, 503 Terry St., Longmont, CO.
