BEN LeBLEU SERVICES HELD IN PORT ARTHUR

Rayne friends have returned home after attending funeral services for Ben LeBleu, 64, former resident of Rayne, who had been making his home in Port Arthur for over fifteen years.

Mr. LeBleu died Sunday morning at 6 a.m. at his home in Port Arthur, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday from a Port Arthur Catholic Church, with interment in the cemetery there.

He is survived by his widow, who was the former Miss Amy Pitre of Texas, his mother, Mrs. John LeBleu of Rayne, and three sisters, Mrs. Laurent Boudreaux and Mrs. R.C. Davis, both of Rayne, and Mrs. C.J. LeBlanc of Scott. One son, Edward "Dude" LeBleu preceded his father in death, passing away about fourteen months ago.

Those from Rayne making the trip to Port Arthur included Dr. and Mrs. E.L. Bercier, Robert Pharr, Mrs. Laurent Boudreaux, E.J. Dumesnil and C.J. Petitjean, Jr.

During the time the family made Rayne their home, Mr. LeBleu or "Ben" as he was known to everyone, had hosts of friends who thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of knowing him. His ability as a chef was outstanding, and some of the most delicious dishes we have ever had were concocted by Ben. He was also a popular figure at any gathering and is remembered by scores who join Tribune in extending sincerest sympathy to his wife and to members of the bereaved family in his death.
