Obituary:

Mrs. Alta A. Crow, 81, of 7842 Hemlock Drive, died Tuesday in a local hospital. She had been a resident of El Paso 18 months and was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by six sons, including J. T. Crow, of El Paso, and three daughters. Her body was sent by Kaster and Maxon to DeLeon, Texas, for burial.

Services Held for Mrs. Crow

Services for Mrs. Alta Crow, 81, 7824 Hemlock, El Paso, who passed away in that city on May 10, 1960, were held at the Church of Christ here Saturday, May 14 at 10:00 A.M. with D. L. Ashley, the minister, officiating.

The deceased was born April 20, 1879 in Comanche to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hamlin.

Survivors are: Claude Crow of Colorado City, Ira Crow of Waller, R. A. Crow of Orange, J. T. Crow of El Paso, Harry Crow of Houston and Harlin Crow of Beaumont, sons; Mrs. Alvie Pritchett of Austin, Mrs. J. P. Joiner of Iraan and Mrs. J. B. Hurst of Falls Church, Virginia, daughters.

Bob Hamlin of Midland, a brother, and Mrs. Charlie Vandiver of Amarillo, a sister, also survive as well as a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Music was by a vocal group of the Church of Christ.

Pallbearers were: Calvin Frasier, Irvin Frasier, Ira Frasier, Harry Huddleston, Bascom McClellan and Robert McClellan.

Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery with Higginbotham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

CAMPTI - Ira C. Crow, 68, of Campti died Thursday morning in a Shreveport hospital after a short illness.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Harry Cleo Crow 86 of Salina, Ok will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the Ghormley Cemetery at Pensacola, OK.

Mr. Crow was born on September 18, 1919 in Duster, TX. He died on December 6, 2005 in Salina, Ok.

The son of James David & Alva (Hamlin) Crow, Harry was the 10th child of twelve and was the 7th son. Being raised around cattle his entire life he left school after the 9th grade to become a cowboy. After sharing limited success in that profession he performed numerous labor jobs until joining the U.S. Navy in 1943. He served on the USS Samar in the Pacific Theater. Upon his being honorably discharged, on a whim he decided to attend Beauty College. This was to lead him to what would become his career for over 20 years selling beauty supplies and teaching others how to use the Loreal products. He was in charge of major hair shows from New York to Los Angles and from Seattle to Miami and all parts in between. After his moving to Mayes County in 1962 he developed an entrepreneural streak he opened the Cash-N-Save Beauty Supply at 109 E. Graham in Pryor, Ok. In 1975 he opened the Patio Garden Restaurant in the back of the building. It was during that time that an out of work hair dresser came in and asked for a job. When he hired Dora Hocutt little did he know that he would find his best friend of his life? They would be together for the next 30 years becoming a major part in the lives of all of Dora's family. He treated her children and grandchildren as though they were his own. Harry never really retired, he continued to sell things having some degree of local notoriety as the "Peanut Man" and in recent years making and selling lawn ornaments. His turkey, trains, beetles, frogs and other critters cover many lawns all over Mayes County.

Funeral services for Lowell H. Crow, 44, of Ingleside will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Hillier Funeral Home. Crow died Sunday in Aransas Pass of a heart attack.

Crow, a resident of Bryan for 14 years, was born in Comanche County on April 22, 1924. He was the manager of the local Sterling Electronic Co. and recently became the Regional Manager for Sterling Electronics. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, serving in the US Navy Submarine Service, and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Former Wichitan Succumbs Sunday

Lowell Harlan Crow, former resident of Wichita Falls, died Sunday in his Corpus Christi home.

Services will be in the Bryan Central Church of Christ.

Crow, a retired Naval veteran attended Hardin College and left Wichita Falls for Bryan in 1954. He was employed by an appliance firm, here and had been manager and part owner of a store in Corpus Christi.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene, of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Whitley, Corpus Christi, .and Mrs. Larry Wood, College Station; and two sons, Ronnie Crow, serving with the Navy in North Carolina, and Greg Crow, Corpus Christi.

Apprentice Seaman James F. Crow, Jr., was killed in an airplane crash at San Diego, California, last Monday. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Crow, Sr., who live on the E.G. Watkins ranch. Crow is employed by the Drilling and Exploration company.

Funeral arrangements for Apprentice Seaman James F. Crow, Jr., 18, of Spring Creek, who was killed last Monday in an army airplane crash in California, are still pending the arrival of the body, the Duenkel-Carmichael Funeral home in Pampa stated today.

Young Crow, attended Skellytown schools and also attended Borger high school last year. He enlisted in the navy in May, 1941. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Crow, Sr., of Spring Creek. Crow is an employee of the Drilling and Exploration company and lives on the Watkins lease.

Advices in Pampa said they were expecting word from navy authorities momentarily as to when the body would be shipped. If it arrives in the morning, services will probably be held tomorrow afternoon.

Survivors, besides the parents, include: four brothers and three sisters, Elnora, Curtis, Donald, Doris, Mary Loraine, Harold Dean and Jerry De; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Crow of Rogers, New Mexico; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O.G. Heath of Bakersfield, Calif.; and one aunt, who has just arrived, Mrs. G.W. Good, of Fort Worth. Mrs. Good was accompanied by a close friend of the family, Mrs. Edna Woodson, also of Fort Worth.

Elnora Davenport, 67, Borger, died Monday, April 12, 1993 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains with Mike Perry, director of pastoral services at High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo, officiating.

Funeral services were held in Hurst and burial was in Bowie.

Mr. Crow was a former Borger resident. He was raised at Spring Creek and was a 1946 graduate of Borger High School. He letterd [sic] in basketball and football. He also attended Frank Phillips College.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Crow had lived in Hurst over 22 years. He was a former Bowie councilman and was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club, and the Jaycees.

Jerry Crow, 83, of Greenville, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021 at his home, with family members by his side.

No service is planned at this time. His family will attend a future memorial and burial of his ashes at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, Texas.

Jerry was born in Pampa, Texas on Nov. 20, 1937. He spent his youth in the Texas Hill Country and was an Army veteran. He also enjoyed playing music and tinkering in his shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, and his beloved son, Mark Crow.

He is survived by Pat, his wife of 27 years; sons Terry Colbert, Michael and wife Kelly Colbert, and Wally and wife Shannon Colbert; daughter Kim Scollon and husband Rick Scollon, Sr.; grandchildren Lindsey Campbell, Rick Jr. and Ian Scollon, Devon, Nathan, Jack, Seth and Ian Colbert, and nine great-grandchildren, Caroline and Carson Campbell, Hudson and Payton Scollon, Levi, Deagon, Grayton, Hudson and Camden Colbert.

Jerry was a very special soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for Jerry, especially Keegan Boggs (Hearts and Hands) and Robert Christy and Kasey Ward (Kindred Hospice).

She was born on September 26, 1921 in Marshall County to late Claud Cecil Crow and Hester Jane Roberts Crow. Vila was raised in Marshall County where she lived most of her life. She married Joseph Clifton Davis on July 16, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1989. She moved to McKinney in 2005 to be closer to her family. Vila was affiliated with the United Church of God and her joys in life were her children, their families and her church family.

Corinne "Little Mama" Claborn of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the age of 99. She was born on Saturday, May 24, 1924 in Madill, Oklahoma to Claude Crow and Hester Jane (Roberts) McAlester.

She was a longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma. She married Major Lloyd Claborn, the love of her life, on February 8, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas. She was an excellent mother, the best Mama anyone could have hoped for. Everyone knew her as "Little Mama".

She loved flowers and enjoyed getting her hands dirty in her flower bed. She enjoyed spending time outside. She was a good cook and seamstress. She also kept many journals, where she stored special memories. She always had to be on her feet because she was not one to sit still. As she grew older and became more still, she took up more time reading. She also deeply loved her family and her cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents Claude Crow and Hester Jane (Roberts) McAlester; husband Major Lloyd Claborn; sisters Viola Davis and Zelma Leslie.

Survivors include her daughter Brandie White of Durant, Oklahoma; sons Major Lloyd Claborn, Jr. and wife Teresa of Benton, Arkansas, Lewis Joe Claborn and wife Peggy of Tallahassee, Florida as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, other extended family and friends.

A family visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Gordon Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Oklahoma with Jennifer Roberts officiating.

Zelma Lois Crow Leslie was born in Marshall County, Oklahoma on May 16, 1927. She passed from this life on February 8, 2018 at the age of 90. She was a resident of CARE Nursing Facility, Early, Texas.

Mrs. Leslie was preceded in death by both of her parents, Claud Cecil Crow and Hester Jane Roberts Crow, her husband, Lloyd Kenneth Leslie, two sisters, Fannie May Crow and Vila Anderson. She is survived by two sons, Wendyl Keith Leslie and wife Carolyn Minson Leslie of Boerne, Texas, and Jerry Dean Leslie and wife Janet L'Roy Leslie of Brownwood, Texas. She also has five grandchildren: Keith Leslie and wife Pam Marshall Leslie of San Antonio, Texas; Dustin Leslie and wife Sarah Leslie of Boerne, Texas; and Brooke Leslie Anderson and husband, Curtis Anderson, of Sherwood, Oregon; Jeffrey Leslie and wife Tiffany Bradford Leslie of San Antonio; Jennifer Leslie Chen and husband Andy Chen of Mansfield, Texas. She has 19 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Leslie was raised in and around Marshall County, Oklahoma. She attended school in Madill, Oklahoma and graduated high school from Russett High School. She met Lloyd in her high school years. Upon his return from World War II they would marry in 1946. Their first son, Wendyl, was born in 1947 and Jerry was born in 1948. She and Lloyd would reside in Ada, Oklahoma and raise their family there until 1962 when Lloyd would accept employment in Duncan, Oklahoma. Lloyd and Zelma would move to McAlester, Oklahoma for a few years, move to Garland, Texas to own and operate a Sonic Drive-In and then return McAlester to buy country property, build a new home and raise cattle. In time they would move to Wilson, Oklahoma to do the same there and then move to Ardmore, Oklahoma during retirement years.

But, being so far away from the rest of the family who resided in Texas, they would make other moves to be closer to the children and growing number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. First in Utopia, Texas, then to Boerne, Texas. Aging and needing more support they would move to the Brown County, Texas area in 2005.

Mrs. Leslie, in addition to being a wonderful homemaker, seamstress, and cook, also worked in several of the above-mentioned locations in the Department of Public Safety, Licensing Division. She was not only very efficient in her performance but was very people-minded and gracious. She was loved by her co-workers and appreciated and enjoyed by the public.

She was a deeply religious person. She was a bible class teacher for many years and faithful in attendance and worship. She lived her life as a Christian, serving others. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the 4th and Stewart Church of Christ in Brownwood at the time of her death.

Mrs. Leslie was loved by her family. She took an interest in all the children and loved talking with them. She was famous in the family for her chicken and dumplings. Everything she cooked was from "scratch." You could always find her in the kitchen preparing everyone's favorite items in meals. Cherry pies made the Top Ten list every year.

LAKE CHARLES - James "Jim" Desmond Files, Sr., 83, of Moss Bluff died Thursday, January 22, 2009, in a local hospital.

Mr. Files was born Gorman, Texas, raised and educated in Mission, Texas and had lived 22 years in the Lake Charles area. He retired a Drilling Consultant after 50 years in the Oil Filed. He worked primarily for Williams Drilling Company and Stone Petroleum and for some time owned and operated Files Petroleum Consultants.

Mr. Files enjoyed watching and talking about football and NASCAR. He also enjoyed having exotic birds as house pets.

He will be most remembered as a loving father and wonderful grandfather. He leaves to honor his memory, three sons, James Desmond Files, Jr. and wife, Denise, Johnny D. Files and wife, Angie, all of Youngsville, and Michael Lee Files of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Adele Raye Files, Jacy Lee Files, Baily Lyn Coscarart, of Bosco, and Dillon Michael Files, all of Youngsville; one great-grandchildren on the way, Marlie Coscarart; and two brothers, Patrick H. Files of Georgetown, Texas, and Wiley Files, of Winchester Bay, Ore.

He also leaves, six step-children, Roger and Shera Materne, J.D. Materne, Harold Materne and wife, Mary, Darrell Materne and wife, Leslie, Sandra Gibson, and Gail Ducote; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Alva Crowe Files; his first wife and mother of his children, Joyce Warner Files and his loving wife, Lois Materne Files.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Mickey Byrd and Mr. Alfred Antoine will officiate. Burial will be in Creel Cemetery in Bel, LA. Visitation Friday will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.

Pallbearers for services will be Mike Larriviere, Jhon Coscarart, Ron Brazzel, Otis Collins, David Johnson and Grizz Manry.

Patrick H. Files Sr., 81, of Baytown, went to be with his Savior on March 26, 2012, after a courageous battle with dementia and cancer.

He was born January 5, 1931, in Gorman, Texas, to Wiley Files Sr. and Alva Files. He had been a long time resident of Baytown and active member of this community. He was a long time member of First Christian Church. He proudly served this nation in the US Navy, during the Korean War, earning the rank of petty officer, 1st class. Pat dedicated the rest of his career to the office furniture business working for Office Equipment Company in, McAllen, Tx., Matherne's in Baytown, Tx. and Commercial Furniture Services Inc. in Houston, Tx. where he retired as vice president of sales. Pat loved spending time with his family, gardening and his dog Schatzi. Pat was always quick with a joke and loved to laugh. He was a great husband, dad, grandpa and teacher.

Pat is preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Eileen Files, His brothers Jim Files and Wiley Files.

He is survived by his son Patrick Henry Files Jr. (Jenny), of Baytown; Son Jamie Jordan (Kim), of Dallas; daughter Javona Jordan (Tim Crabb), of Baytown; daughter Marcia Strickler ( Stephen Watson), of Austin; son Joe Jordan (Bridget), of Ft. It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Sue Pate announce her passing. Rita peacefully passed away at 2:45 on July 11, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital in the Woodlands. Rita went to be with her Lord and her parents at the age of 75. She was surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren holding hands and sharing memories as she left this world.

Rita was predeceased by her parents, Robert Arlie Crow and Valdoraine Dotson Crow. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Jep Pate. She is also fondly remembered by her son, Alan Pate of Magnolia and his wife Tracie Pate, daughter Valerie Pate of Spring. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Heather Pate, Chris Pate, Sarah Pate, Jenna Pate, Kim Wallace and Amber Corpuz and her two great-grandchildren Addison Pate and Wyatt Wallace.

Rita had a strong love for her family and friends. The people that she loved and treasured where the most important things to her. She measured value in friendships and family not by possessions. She lived by her heart and hear hearts passion. She was the first to plan a fun filled event, trip or the first to wish kind words and support to a friend. She loved life and friends to the fullest and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to decorate and make her home beautiful and inviting to friends and family. She loved to help others with decorating their home if they wanted the help. She loved to make each holiday special and decorate for all holidays. She took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow. She was always their biggest fan and only wanted great things for them. When they reached an achievement, she was filled with love and pride and always sharing the stories with her friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379 at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 20, 2018. Following the service her loving husband, JE will be hosting a celebration at the family home at 18502 Arlan Lake Drive, Spring, Texas 77378 to honor her memory.

The service will be conducted by Rev. Louis Perrin, a family friend from La Marque. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.kleinfh.com. Kenneth Lee Crow, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2013. He was born July 19, 1943 in De Leon, TX as the second son to Ira Crow and Pauline Blair Crow.

Kenneth lived in DeLeon and, later, Waller, TX where he graduated high school. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education from the University of Houston. While attending the university, Ken married Mary Beth Flukinger. They had two sons, Jason Blair and Gordon Lee, moving to Victoria, TX shortly after Jason was born.

In Victoria, Ken met his second and current wife Sharon Edson and her two children, Paige and Kyle. From Victoria, they moved to Austin, TX where Ken began working as a Director for the Texas Education Agency. They subsequently moved to Kyle, TX and lived there until 1990. During his time there, Ken was elected as the mayor of the town and served two terms in the 1980's.

Following Ken's retirement from TEA, he became a consultant with Deloitte Consulting. This second "career" took Ken and Sharon to Fort Worth, TX and then to Lake Bluff, IL. Upon his retirement from Deloitte, Ken and Sharon moved to Ruidoso, NM where they spent the next 8 years.

Ken's career was focused on benefits for children with special needs on a national, state or school district level. One in particular was the ABC program that provided support for families through education, therapy and other services. During his and Sharon's careers and retirement they met many wonderful people, many of whom became life long friends.

Ken enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, fishing, traveling, bar-b-queuing and spending time with friends and family.

Ken was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother, Phillip Crow. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Sharon Edson Crow; four children, Jason Crow and wife Stephanie of Colorado Springs, CO, Gordon Crow of Johnson City, TX, Paige Stotts and husband Alan of Salt Lake City, UT, and Kyle Pickens and wife Ann of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Sadie, Jackson, and Thatcher Crow, Hayden and Erin Stotts, and Charlie Pickens; sister in law, Linda Crow of The Woodlands, TX; sister and brother in law, Rodlyn and James Mazoch of Corpus Christi, TX; niece, Shannon Kelly and husband Paul of Austin, TX and nephew, Daniel Mazoch of Corpus Christi, TX Ken is also survived by his little buddy "Jake" the dog and "Leo" the cat.

A memorial service celebrating Ken's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Crofts - Crow Funeral Home, 911 Mesquite, Blanco, TX 78606. Ken's cremated remains will be placed in the Kyle Cemetery next to his dear friend Jack Schwartz.

Gary passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 in the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Danny Dennis.

Gary was born on September 28, 1935 in Gorman, TX to J.T. and Etta Crow. He married Kathleen Terrell on October 18, 1956, in El Paso, TX. He retired, after 25 years, from Campbell ISD.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Duncan and Susan Dennis; grandsons, Zachary Dennis, Mark Duncan, and Daniel Duncan; granddaughter, Jennifer Duncan; great grandson, Calvin Duncan; great granddaughter, Clara Jane Duncan; brother, Max Crow, along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Ronald Lowell Crow, of Woodstock, Georgia, lost his battle with cancer on May 13, 2012, at the age of 68. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, at South Care Memorial Center, Marietta, Ga., and internment at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Ga.

He will best be remembered for his quarter-century service in the U.S. Navy, retiring as Master Chief, and his fifteen+ years of service in the Canton and Woodstock, GA, Lions Clubs. He was born in Wichita Falls, July 28, 1943. Ron graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan, in 1962, and left to serve his nation, but never forgot his home state, frequently calling it "God's Country." He served in Vietnam, then the Panama Canal Zone, followed by the Pacific fleet in San Diego, CA, and Hawaii. Transferring to Newport, RI, in 1982, he began teaching at the Naval War College and the Senior Enlisted Academy. His last assignment before retiring was Command Master Chief on the aircraft carrier USS Independence (CV-62).
After relocating to the Atlanta area, he began a career in real estate and volunteering with the Lions Club. Although later retiring from real estate sales, he continued serving those with sight impairment until his illness prevented participation. When not serving his community and country, Ron liked to travel, especially in Europe, reading western and espionage novels, and spending time with his family.

The oldest of five, he is predeceased by his parents, Lowell H. and Imogene E. Crow.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl; daughter and spouse, Cristi and Daniel Kelly of Columbia, Md.; three grandsons, Benjamin, Ian, and Ryan Kelly; son and spouse, John and Kristie Crow of Tallahassee, Fla.; his sisters and their spouses, Judy and James Wright of Harper, Texas, Linda and Bill Watts of College Station, Peggy and John Fields of Frisco, Texas; his brother and spouse, Greg and Doris Crow of Bryan; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Crow Child's Rites Are Conducted Here

Funeral services for Stephen Earl Crow, 6-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Crow, were held Wednesday afternoon from Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.

The child died Monday night in a hospital at Gorman where his 7-year-old brother, Ronald Lowell, is undergoing treatment for a similar illness.

Olin Huff, assistant minister of the Tenth and Broad Streets Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was at Crestview Memorial Park.

The youngster was a native of Wichita Falls, moving only recently to Carbon, Texas, with his mother when his father was re-called to active duty with the U.S. Navy as a radioman second class. His father was stationed with the naval armory here for several years.

Survivors besides the parents and the brother include three sisters, Judith Ann, Linda Jean and Peggy Joyce Crow, all of Carbon; and two grandparents, Marvin Brothers of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Alta Crow of De Leon.

Judith Ann Wright passed away peacefully on October 27, 2021 at the age of 75 years in Harper, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church located at 23932 US-290, Harper, Texas 78631. Burial will follow in the Harper City Cemetery.

Judy was born on April 13, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, James Wright; her children Holli Kenton, Sheila Elliott and James Wright II; her grandchildren Jaclyn Untrecht, Kaitlyn Untrecht, Brittney Moore, Brandon Russell, Anastasia Wright, Bradshaw Wright, Randy Wright, Rosslyn Wright, Averi Wright, and Logan Wright; siblings Linda Watts and Greg Crow; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents Imogene and Lowell Crow; son Jason Wright; grandson Cameron Untrecht; and siblings Ronald Crow, Peggy Fields, and Stephen Crow.

Judy loved to travel. Not only had she visited all 50 states, but also over 60 countries. Her favorite vacations always included cruises. Some of her memorable visits included Russia, China, Australia, and Alaska, to name a few. One of her treasured memories was meeting with the Pope. What she loved most of all was coming back home to her ranch in the hill country surrounded by flowers, wildlife, and her dog Gidgett.

In her free time, Judy loved country western dancing, dinner with friends, gardening, and intense game nights. Anywhere with the sea and sand made her the happiest. Her grandkids knew her as Mimi. They looked forward to their trips to visit her almost more than she did. She was always kept busy with annual SeaWorld, Schlitterbahn, or river trips.

Judy held many careers. When she met her husband, Judy was a laboratory technician at Texas A&M University. While married, she maintained a career as a research technician and tax preparer. She soon became field director at the March of Dimes and retired after several years. Judy moved on to become involved in the Hill Country Youth Ranch where she was a part of the thrift shop board. She also helped with various projects such as funding for the Harper community park and grants for the Heart of the Hills Heritage.

Cherri Lana Bryant Dehart passed away Monday May 8, 2017 in Dallas, Texas at the Boone Pickins' Cancer Hospital. She is survived by her husband Lynn Dehart, her daughter Heather Dehart; granddaughters Courtney and Brittany Hensley, her daughter-in-law Laura Dehart and grandsons Isaac, Parker and Elliot Dehart. Her son Bradley Lynn Dehart preceded her in death February 18, 2017. Cherri was born in Borger, Texas, but spent most of her adult life in the Dallas area. She spent many years employed by American Airlines and was a full time homemaker. She began College at age 52 and earned an Associates Degree at age 54. She was full of life and brightened the lives of everyone she touched. She loved to travel with her husband and best friend, Lynn. Spending time with children and grandchildren was her favorite pastimes. There will be a private memorial in Cedar Hill at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Texans Can Academies towards the establishment of the Cherri Dehart Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will provide funds for a graduating teen mother to begin a college career. Ms. Crow was born Oct. 21, 1956, in Groom to Anna and Harold Crow. She graduated from Palo Duro High School.

Ms. Crow had worked at Levis Strauss as a presser for 14 years.

Eugene Michael Files, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Files of Velasco died Saturday. The baby was born on August 11, 1948.

Steve Files, 60, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away quietly on December 28, 2010 in Houston, Texas.

He was born to Florence Marie Files and James Desmond Files in Houston, Texas on June 6, 1950. Steve enjoyed gardening, camping, reading and had a great love of music. He enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to his prized collection of albums, though not as much as he enjoyed the company his dog 'Cricket'.

He is preceded in death by his mother and younger brother, Thomas Charles Files.

He is survived by his children, Sarah Files and husband Stephen Peters, Elizibeth Files and Charles Files; grandchildren, Rheya Garza and Reznick Morris; siblings, Katherine Hunt and James Files and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
