    Obituary:

    Funeral services were held Thursday, Jul 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Louis Clement, 82, who died July 5 at the Rayne Guest Home.

    Burial was in the church cemetery.

    Clement was a member of Arceneaux Post No. 77, American Legion and members of the Post served as a honor guard, including Leo Melancon, Leo Spaetgens, Nelson Richard and John Shelton.

    He is survived by his wife, Camilla L. Clement of Rayne; a sister, Angelle Nunez of Port Arthur, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services for Louis Clement, 82, who died Wednesday at the Rayne Guest Home after a recent illness were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Church.

    Fr. Benoit Drapeau, CJM, officated and burial was in the new St. Joseph Cemetery, with Gossen Funeral Home directing arrangements.

    He is survived by his wife, Camilla LaChausse Clement of Rayne; one sister, Angelle Nunez of Port Arthur; and a number of nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his father, Adam Clement, and his mother, Marie Benoit. He was self-employed.

    A veteran of World War II, he was remembered by an Honor Guard from Arceneaux Post, American Legion, including Leo Spaetgens, Nelson Richard, Leo Melancon and John Shelton, Memorial Chairman.
