GILE LEBLANC COMMITS SUICIDE

Gile LeBlanc, residing with his brother Philip LeBlanc, about one mile north of Andrew committed suicide one day last week by shooting himself with a shot gun.

LeBlanc had become somewhat mentally unbalanced from brooding over the death of his wife, which occurred some time ago, and had on several previous occassions attempted to put an end to his life. However, he was semmingly improving, but was still being closely watched. His relatives were afraid he would make another attempt on his life so all guns and knives were kept hidden from him. His brother took special care to conceal his gun and shells, but it seems that Gile, with the customary cunning of the partially insane, discovered the hiding place.

On the day upon which he committed the deed, there was no one at home, thus giving him the opportunity he had wanted for so long. Securing the gun he loaded both barrels, placed the muzzle of it in his mouth and pressed the triggers. Only one barrel was discharged but that caused instant death.

When the family returned the body was discovered where it had fallen - the gun lying across it. The exact time of the deed could not be determined but happened sometime between 1 and 4 o'clock p.m.
