Gilbert LeBlanc Dies in Alexandria
Gilbert LeBlanc, 69, died at an Alexandria hospital at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after an illness of two years.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. yesterday at the Methodist church, the Rev. W.C. Barham officiating. Burial was in the Indian Bayou cemetery.
Mr. LeBlanc was a native of Indian Bayou but had lived in Rayne for the last 36 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Carrie Hoffpauir, and one son, Leroy "Happy Fats" LeBlanc, a radio entertainer. He also leaves two brothers, Philip LeBlanc and Ignace LeBlanc, both of Indian Bayou; a sister, Mrs. Dallas Richard, Indian Bayou; and three grandchildren.
