    EXPRESSION OF SYMPATHY

    We, the Resolution Committee of Lodge No. 7, Caldwell, in behalf of the entire membership, express our sympathy to the bereaved family of our departed lodge brother,

    WILLIE JOE SEBESTA, SR.,

    age 77, who died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 25, 1975 in the Goodnight Memorial Hospital following a 10-day hospital stay.

    Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 27th, in the Caldwell Brethren Church, with Rev. Henry Beseda and Rev. Daniel Marek officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of Bowers-Harvey-Schiller Funeral Home.

    Brother Sebesta was born on June 24th, 1898 in Deanville Community. He was united in marriage to Miss Lydia M. Dusek of November 30, 1920. This marriage was blessed with four children (his oldest daughter preceded him in death, and she was married to John W. Springer); one son, B.J. Sebesta; daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Alice Ruth) Chlapek and Mrs. Linda Jean Simcik (the wife of Rev. Frank Simcik).

    Brother Sebesta was a member of the Caldwell Brethren Church and a member of the Caldwell Brethren Church and a member of SPJST Lodge No. 7, Caldwell, for 58 years, having served as president for 18 years. His early life's occupation being in farming, later he became a clerk for Parkhill Grocery Store for 14 years, and then at Jennings Hardware Co. for 24 years.

    Survivors include his wife, one son and two daughters; two brothers and three sisters.

    Serving as pallbearers were his two grandsons, Wesley Springer of Pasadena, and Charles Sebesta of San Angelo; nephews Theodore Dusek, Franklin Sebesta, both of Caldwell, Melvin Pertl, Robert Deutsch, James Wolff, all of Houston, and Joe F. Sebesta of Gregory.

    May our departed brother rest in eternal peace and may his memory live among us forever.

    We, the undersigned Resolution Committee in behalf of the entire membership of Lodge Rovnost No. 7, Caldwell, wish to express our sincere sympathy to the bereaved family of our departed sister,

    MRS. JOSEPHINE L. SEBESTA SPRINGER,

    Sister Springer passed away early Thursday morning, January 11, 19973 at her home, 712 Dunwick Lane, Pasadena, Texas, at the age of 48 years. She was born on July 25, 1924 in the New Tabor Community near Caldwell. Her parents are Willie J. Sebesta and Lydia M. Dusek Sebesta. She attended Union School for three months, then her parents moved to Caldwell in 1930. Josephine graduated from Caldwell High School in 1941. She entered San Marcos Southwest Texas State Teachers' College at the age of 16. She taught at San Antonio Prairie School for four years. She received her BS degree inn 1946. She moved to Pasadena and on November 2, 1949 she was married to John W. Springer. In 1950 she received her Master of Education degree from the University of Houston. She taught 26 years in Pasadena - in all, she taught 30 years.

    She was a member of the Pasadena Brethren Church, the Pasadena Christian Sisters, the TSTA and SPJST Lodge Rovnost No. 7, Caldwell.

    Memorial services were held locally at Colonial Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Friday with Rev. Eugene Kotrla, her pastor, officiating.

    Additional services were held Saturday, January 13, 1973 at 2 p.m. at the Caldwell Brethren Church, with Rev. Henry Beseda and Rev. Eugene Kotrla of Pasadena officiating.

    Survivors include her husband, John W. Springer; her son, Darryl Wesley Springer, both of Pasadena; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Sebesta of Caldwell; two sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Alice Ruth) Chlapek of Pasadena, Mrs. Frank A. (Linda Jean) Simcik of Temple; one brother, Billy Joe Sebesta of Kenedy; two nieces, Darla kay Chlapek of Pasadena, Elizabeth Sebesta of San Angelo, Texas; four nephews, Bill III and Charles Sebesta, both of San Angelo, Bruce Franklin Simcik and Bradley Lane Simcik, both of Temple, and many more relatives and friends.

    Colonial Funeral Home of Pasadena, was in charge of arrangements, assisted by Harvey, Bowers, Schiller Funeral Chapel in the services in Caldwell.

    Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell.

    Graveside services for Billy Joe Sebesta, Jr., 89, of Caldwell were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell with Pastor Richard Brunk officiating. Mr. Sebesta passed away on September 17, 2018 in Caldwell, Texas

    Billy was born December 19, 1928 to Willie Joe Sebesta, Sr. and Lydia (Dusek) Sebesta in Caldwell, Texas. He graduated Caldwell High School in 1946 and then went on to graduate from Southwest College in 1949. He also served his country as a member of the United States Army. Billy was a math teacher first in Pettus, Texas and then in Kenedy, Texas for many years.

    He enjoyed traveling with his sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Marvin to Branson, Missouri, as well as many sporting events. He coached and refereed many sporting teams and events over the years. Billy also like to hunt and fish.

    Billy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Valerie (Beidiger) Sebesta; sister, Josephine Springer; and brothers-in-law, Rev. Frank Simcik and Johnny Springer.

    He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Bill & Mary Sebesta of San Angelo, Charles & Charlotte Sebesta of San Angelo, Trey & Geralyn Biediger of Victoria, Kenny & Pennie Biediger of Katy; daughter and son-in-law, Betsy & Ben Wilde of Wall; sisters and brother-in-law, Alice & Marvin Chlapek of Caldwell, Linda Simcik; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and family friends.

    Funeral services for Linda Jean Simcik, 79, of Temple will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Pastor Tom Popelka officiating. Private burial to follow.

    She passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Baylor Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital.

    She was born October 26, 1939 in Caldwell, Texas to Willie and Lydia Dusek Sebesta. She graduated from Caldwell High School class of 1958 and attended the University of Texas in Austin. Her main focus was her faithfulness to her home and family. She also worked as a church secretary and teacher's assistant at local preschools. She loved playing her piano and singing Christian music in churches and at home. She planned and coordinated musical presentations with choirs in various churches she and her husband served. She was a very supportive and loyal Pastor's wife, to her husband Frank, for over sixty years in various Central Texas churches, most recently being Buckholts Evangelical Brethren Church.

    Linda married Frank Simcik on June 8, 1958 in Caldwell. Together they shared over sixty years of marriage. She was well known and loved for making candies such as peanut and pecan brittle and baking other specialties as well. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her flowers and plants. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her sons and daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, supportive mother, and a beloved grandmother and will dearly be missed by all who loved her. She used her talents and gifts to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, faithfully for her entire life.

    She is survived by her two sons, Bruce Simcik of Austin and Brad Simcik and wife Amy of Houston; a sister, Alice Chlapek of Caldwell; five grandchildren, Caitlin Simcik, Krista Simcik, Brenna Simcik, Will Simcik, and Carissa Simcik; as well as many other family and friends.

    The family would like to give a special word of thanks to the medical teams and staff from Baylor Scott & White Hospital, BS&W Continuing Care Hospital and S&W Hospice. The love and care you gave to Linda and our family is treasured and appreciated.

    In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Houston's First Baptist Church in care of Can Hope Cancer Ministry, 7401 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77024.

    The family will receive visitors from 4-6 pm on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the funeral home.
