Gladys Koerth, 88, of San Antonio, passed away January 24, 2013. She was born March 28, 1924, to the late Fletcher German and Martha Warren German. She was preceded in death by her parents: husband Dr. C.J. Koerth, son, Charles Koerth III, and brother, Fletcher German of College Station. She is survived by: two sons, Paul Koerth and wife Belva, and David Koerth and wife Donna, one daughter, Kay Koerth Searson and husband John, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters: Cathy Holligan of Bryan, TX, Elizabeth Boyd of College Station, TX, and Mary Huckaby of Victoria, TX, and one brother, Sam German of Thompsonville, IL. She was a member of the Bexar Chapter #616 of the Order of the Eastern Star and Primera Mexican Baptist Church (Formerly Manor Baptist Church). Flowers or donations to the American Heart Association or any Cancer Foundation are appreciated.
Services
Visitation will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapel North, 3401 Cherry Ridge, on Friday, February 1, 2013, from 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South, 1700 S.E. Military.
A private family entombment at the Koerth family mausoleum will follow the service.

Fletcher German passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 in College Station. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, February 4, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m., Friday, February 5, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 220 Rock Prairie Rd., College Station, with Pastor David Elton officiating. A private interment for the family will follow at College Station Cemetery.
Fletcher was born August 5, 1928, to Fletcher German Sr. and Mattie Warren German in Wellborn, Texas. Fletcher grew up in the Wellborn community and graduated from A&M Consolidated High School. He began working for the Texas A&M Physical Plant as a painter in 1951 and served as Paint Foreman for several years before retiring in 1983. Fletcher also was a volunteer fireman for Texas A&M University serving the City of College Station and south Brazos County for 20 years. He was a member of the Adam Rayder Mason Lodge of Wellborn and Sons of Hermann Lodge 99 of Bryan.
Fletcher was a lifelong member of A&M Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder and helped organize the church is food pantry. He also served on the planning and building committee for the Covenant Presbyterian Church in College Station. Fletcher's passions included hunting, fishing, playing music, and family gatherings.
Preceding Fletcher in death were his parents, Fletcher German Sr. and Mattie Kaechle, and his first wife, Gloria Burke German.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Whitsel German; son, Dan German and wife LaNell; daughter, Babs Hogan and husband Dan; step-daughters, Susie Brushaber and husband Merrill, Wanda Zwernemann and husband Dennis, Jeanie Gold and husband Alvin, Mildred Anderson and husband Andy; brother, Sam German and wife Louise; sisters Gladys Koerth, Gaynell Boyd and husband Charles, Cathy Holligan and husband Byron, Mary Lois Huckaby; step-sisters, Juanita Jones, Ruby Joy, Mary Martin; step-brothers, Clyde Carrie and Lonnie Carrie; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fletcher's life truly reflected his faith in God through tireless efforts to serve his church, community, friends, and family.

Sam German, 89 of Paulton, passed away at 11:42 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at his residence.
Sam was born November 12, 1929 in Wellborn, Texas to Fletcher and Martha Ella (Warren) German, Sr. He married Florence Louise Lasley on February 23, 1957 in Anderson, Texas. Together they have shared 62 years of marriage.
Sam was retired, having been employed by E.T. Simonds Constructions for many years. Before he moved to Illinois, he worked for Butler, Jones and Williams Construction in College Station, Texas. He also worked at the Texas A&M University Beef Center. Sam served his country honorably by serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Sam was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church near Paulton. He was also a member of Laborers International Local #773. He enjoyed welding and tinkering on his farm. He shoed horses from the age of 14 until the age of 82. Sam enjoyed spending time outdoors deer hunting. His greatest passion was raising cattle and working with his horses. He loved to compete and judge horse shows and rodeos.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; five children, Russell E. (Nancy) Odum of Bluford, Caron (Scottie) Harris of West Frankfort, Catherine (Gary) Mosley of Bryan, TX, Dennis (Ruby) Odum of Benton and Lloyd (Maureen) German of Akin; two sisters, Catherine Holligan of Bryan, TX and Gaynell Boyd of Sommerville, TX. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jessie German, Jr; brother, Fetcher German, Jr; two sisters, Gladys Koreth and Marylois Huckabee.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Pyle Funeral Home with Rev. John Howat officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery near Paulton. Military honors will be accorded by the Marion VFW Post 1301 and members of the Illinois National Guard Military Honors team.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Monday at the funeral home.

CAR ACCIDENT KILLS EX-CARBONDALE MAN
Jessie Samuel German, Jr., 20, of 413A Stasany, College Station, Texas, formerly of Carbondale, died in an auto accident early Monday, May 14, 1979, near College Station.
Mr. German was graduated in 1977 from Carbondale Community High School. He had played football at CCHS for four years. A graduate of the CCHS building trades occupation program, he was employed as a carpenter.
He was born June 17, 1958, in College Station, Texas, to Jessie Samuel and Florence Louise Lasley German. his parents, of Bryan, Texas, survive.
Also surviving are two sisters, Karon Elaine Harris of Thompsonville and Catherine Mosley of Bryan, Texas; three brothers, Sgt. Russell Odom, stationed with the Army in Germany, Dennis Odom of Marion and Lloyd German of Thompsonville; maternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Lloyd Lasley of Benton, and his paternal grandmother, Mattie Kaechele of College Station.

Richard (Dicky) Don Dennington, a native of Shawnee, Oklahoma and long time resident of Somerville, Texas died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the age of 68 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Service are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Cetners, Bryan-College Station.
A Graveside Service for Dicky was held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wellborn Community Cemetery in Wellborn, Texas. The service was officiated by Rev. Bruce Bergthold.
Dicky was born on February 13, 1950 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to John Milton Dale Dennington and Elizabeth German Dennington. Soon after his birth Dicky's father who was in the military was transferred to San Clemente, California. Throughout Dicky's childhood the family lived in numerous places including College Station and Houston where he attended grade school and Furr High School. In high school Dicky belonged to the FFA where he proudly won a blue ribbon for one of his entries.
Upon graduating from high school Dicky entered the United States Air Force. Following his stint in the USAF Dicky returned home.
Dicky was known to be a very sweet little boy and a kind and gentle person who enjoyed fishing at Lake Somerville and Galveston. He loved his family and the companionship of his cat, Toby.
Dicky is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Dale Dennington, and his brother Robin Dennington.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Elizabeth Boyd of Somerville; sisters, Peggy and David Melton of Warda, Leah Menchaca of College Station, Cynthia and Bruce Bergthold of Geneseo, Illinois, Jennifer Davis and Gary Bachert of Somerville; brothers John and Sayla Dennington of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Ralph Plagens Jr. of Somerville; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
