    Funeral services were held in the Woods Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 20, for Mrs. Josephine Crow of Somerville. The Rev. T. V. Lewis, pastor of the Christian Church officiated. Mrs. Pat Westfall sang two solos, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer My God to Thee", accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Cecil Matejowsky. Mrs. Crow passed away early Thursday morning, April 17, in Hilhaven Rest Home at Waco, after being in ill health for several years.

    She was born in Gay Hill, Washington County, Teas on March 25, 1878, the daughter of the late Julius and Emilie Tonn Stolz. She had attained the age of 91 years and 23 days.

    Mrs. Crow was married for 61 years to the late E. M. Crow, who passed away on December 14, 1967. The Crow family had resided in Somerville for the past 65 years.

    Mrs. Crow is survived by one son, James J. Crow of Waco; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Simmers of White Castle, Louisiana; two sisters, Mrs. John Kruska of Granite, Oklahoma and Mrs. Fred Quebe of Agua Dulce; one brother, J. C. Stolz of Brenham; three grandsons; two granddaughters; eight granddaughters; three great grandsons; and many other relatives.

    Interment was beside her husband in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Woods Funeral Home. The following served as pallbearers, John Current of Bellville, John Toupal of Caldwell, Jimmie Stout, Walter Woods, Dwain Smith and Ed Wilkening.

    Born in Brazoria, Texas, on Nov. 28, 1929, and a resident of Goliad, Texas, he passed away Saturday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2009, at the VA Hospital, San Antonio. He was 79, a native of White Castle and a former resident of Lumberton, Miss. He was a retired field foreman for Freeport Oil Co. and Vernon Faulconer Oil Co. and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, having served on the USS Gurke. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at First Baptist Church, White Castle, on Thursday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Greg Wilton. Interment in First Baptist Church Cemetery. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lori Moreland and husband Keith, of Goliad; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald "Ronnie" D. Simmers and wife Georgie, of Port Allen; former wife, Thelma Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry Gueho and husband E.L., of White Castle; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Simmers, and James and wife Virginia Simmers, all of White Castle; five grandchildren, Kendra Burnside and husband Jason, of Stuttgart, Germany, U.S. Navy Sonar Technician Seaman Kyle Moreland, stationed in Everett, Wash., Kayla Moreland, of Goliad, Texas, and Aaron and Katelyn Simmers, of Port Allen; and numerious nieces and nephews. He was affectingly know to his nieces and nephews as Uncle Baboo. Preceded in death by his father, Harry Frank Simmers Sr.; and mother, Mary Elizabeth Crow Simmers. Pallbearers will be Aaron, Zack, Billy and Mike Simmers, Kyle Moreland and Bobby Gueho. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Simmers, E.L. Gueho, Keith Moreland and Percy Bergeron, Paul Hudson and Jimmy Rushing. He loved to play golf and was an avid sports fan who especially loved LSU. Special thanks to the VA Hospital in San Antonio.     The former owner of Simmers Furniture and Appliance Repair, he passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Provost Hospital in Donaldsonville. He was 79, three months from his 80th birthday, and a resident and native of White Castle. He was a former member of the National Guard. Visiting at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, on Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joey Angeles, celebrant. Entombment in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Virginia Ann Maggio Simmers; a son, James M. "Lil Mule" Simmers Jr.; a sister, Sherry Simmers Gueho and husband E.L; a brother, Bill Simmers; two grandchildren, Eric Anthony and Shane Patrick Simmers and their mother, Judy O. Simmers; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriele Joseph and Evelyn Kate Simmers. Preceded in death by a son, Mitch Simmers; parents, Harry Sr. and Mary Crow Simmers; and brother, Harry Frank Simmers Jr. Pallbearers will be Bobby Gueho, Eric, Shane, Ronnie, Zack, Michael and Billy Simmers.     Sherry passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the age of 71.

    She retired from Iberville Parish School System after 25 years; was a resident and native of White Castle, La.

    Visiting will be at First Baptist Church, 24525 Ory St. Plaquemine, La 70764 on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 9am until religious services at noon, conducted by Pastor Keith Horton.

    Interment will follow at First Baptist Church White Castle Cemetery, White Castle.

    She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 53 years, E. L. Gueho; son, Bobby Gueho and wife Kelli; brother, Bill Simmers and wife Trudy; brother in law, James "Jr" Gueho and wife Carolyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Preceded in death by her parents, Harry, Sr and Mary Crow Simmers; and brothers, Harry and James Simmers.

    Pallbearers will be Marty Gueho, Ronnie, Zack, Rusty and James "Simco" Simmers, and Jack Franklin.

    Honorary pallbearers will be Fry Hymel, John "Weed" Bush, John Evans, Doug Coleman, Billy and Mike Simmers, and Andrew Dunn.

    Sherry was active in her church, First Baptist Church of Plaquemine where she was the secretary for 10 years. Sherry and E.L. were faithful followers of all W.C.H.S. sporting events where they went to High School together. She was a member of the LSU track official assoc. and was inducted into the LSU Track and Field Officials Hall of Fame in 2006.
