    Funeral Rites Held For Richard Davis This Afternoon

    Funeral services for Richard (Dick) H. Davis, 69, a life-long resident of Bryan, were held at 3 p.m. today int he chapel of the McDonald Funeral Home.

    The Rev. Frank Boutwell officiated and interment was in the Bryan City Cemetery.

    Mr. Davis, whose home was at 1000 West 17th street, died Monday at 3:15 p.m. at a local hospital. He is survived by a brother, Walter Davis of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Stella Stevenson of Dallas, and a niece, Mrs. Erie Fletcher of Fort Worth.

    The deceased was born in Bryan June 18, 1881, and spent his entire life here. He was a painter and paper hanger by trade.

    Pallbearers were Bill Dowling, Edison English, Guy Dansby, Parker Carroll, Edgar Gerke and W. S. Collard.

    MINERAL WELLS - Lola Mae "Myrt" Whittenburg, 75, who retired in 1984 as a shipping clerk for Perry Equipment Co. in Mineral Wells, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at a Mineral Wells hospital.

    Funeral: was 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial: Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells.

    Lola Mae "Myrt" Whittenburg was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Bryan. She was a member of Eleventh Avenue Church, the Rebekah Lodge, and past member of the Board of Directors of the Perry Equipment Co. Federal Credit Union.

    Survivors: Husband, Dayman Whittenburg Sr.; sons, Jerry Whittenburg, Joe and wife, Vonda Whittenburg, D.C. and wife, Pearl Whittenburg, Roy and wife, Mitzi Whittenburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
