      Judy Ann Cox
      February 28, 1938 - June 6, 2024

Judy Ann Cox passed away June 6, 2024, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at West Funeral Home Chapel. As per her wishes no visitation will be held.

Judy Ann Fuson Cox was born to Dewey Benjamin and Grace Lee (Gregory) Fuson on February 28, 1938, in Carlsbad, NM. She was raised in Carlsbad and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1956.

Freddie Mac "Fred" and Judy Fuson Cox were married on June 9, 1956, in Carlsbad and together they worked for many years as self- employed businesspeople. They lived in a number of places throughout New Mexico, Arizona and California before returning to Carlsbad in the 1970's where they owned and operated Carlsbad Saworks and P.I.P. for many years.

Judy had a zest for life and a love of people. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with others but none more than her family. She had many hobbies to keep her busy throughout the years, but nothing brought her the fulfillment that teaching children's Sunday School at First Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member, brought her.

Judy is proceeded in death by her husband, parents and siblings: Dewey Fuson, Patricia Sue Hamby and Cheryl Tedford.

She is survived by daughters: Peggy Cox Hotter and Carol Cox, sister Vicki Schmidt, grandchildren: Michael Hotter, Stephanie Cox, Leslie Hotter and Taylor Halmaker, and 7 great grandchildren including the great granddaughter she raised as her own, Valarie Gonzalez, Brooklyn Petree, Xavier Petree, Toni Hotter and Bailey Hotter.
