Billy Lamar Twitty, son of Minor & Sue Gladys Russell Twitty, and brother to James Ralph Twitty. He married Gertie Ann Cochran, daughter of Porter and Frances Gertrude Houston Cochran.

MM 1/C Billy Lamar Twitty, son of Mrs. Sue Twitty, Springhill, attended Byrd High. Entered Navy, 1942, trained at Great lakes, Ill. Served in AP [Asia Pacific], Central and S. America. Awarded American Theater and AP Ribbon. Discharged in 1946.
