Mitch R. Tanner of Metairie on Wednesday, September 27, 1995 at 9:30 pm. Age 41 years. A resident of Metairie and a native of New Orleans. Father of John W. Tanner of Honolulu, HI and William and Rachael Tanner of Terrytown, LA. Brother of Barry Tanner, Sr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Gail Tanner of Chalmette, LA and Michael Tanner of Las Vegas, NV. Son of the late Robert L. Tanner and Elsie Tanner of Chalmette. Mr. Tanner served in the United States Army and Army Reserves from March 1971 to August 1987. He was a graduate of Chalmette High School and worked toward his undergraduate degree at UNO and Holy Cross College. Mr. Tanner served in varied federal and state Civil Service positions for many years. Mr. Tanner served as the Human Resource/Loss Prevention Director at New Orleans City Park prior to his passing. He has been many years in public and Christian service and shall be sadly missed by those he cared for.

Services were held on Sunday, October 1, 1995.

Mom was taken unexpectedly on the morning of July 28, 2006. Janice Irene Frey Crow of Burbank passed away at Kadlec Medical Hospital, Richland, WA.

Janice is preceded in death by her brother, John Michael Frey VIII and her dearly beloved best friend "Aunt Nita".

Janice was born Pasco, Washington on July 12, 1940 to John and Phyllis Frey. She attended Pasco schools and graduated from Pasco High in 1958. She married Charles N. Crow on October 5, 1957 and worked for Washington Collectors for 36 years before retiring in January of this year.

Janice is survived by her children Brent Crow (Debbie) of Spokane, Chris Crow (Denise) of Burbank, Angie Dickson (Rob) of Burbank and Lisa Hilberg (Troy) of North Bend, sister Susan Pearson Dick of Burbank, and grandchildren Amanda and Andrea Crow, Colin and Emily Dickson, and John and Jeremiah Binschus and great-grandchildren Conner and Mason Hilberg. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Today is our chance to say thank you for the way you brightened our lives, even though God granted you but half a life. We will all feel cheated always that you were taken from us so young and yet we must learn to be grateful that you came along at all. Only now that you are gone do we truly appreciate what we are now without and we want you to know that life without you is very, very difficult. We will always love and miss you Meme. You will live forever in our hearts and souls.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 1-5 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 W. Clearwater Ave. Kennewick. MONAHANS - Darla Dean Bryant, age 81, of San Angelo (formerly of Monahans) passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 in San Angelo.

She was born September 29, 1933 in Comanche, Texas to William Osier and Laura Mae (Patton) Bean.

She married Buster Bryant on February 8, 1949 in Seagraves, Texas. She was a partner at Doc Reverse and Westar Autoplex.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Harkey Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Mark Bristow officiating.

Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. at Harkey Funeral Home.

Services are under the direction of Harkey Funeral Home.

She is survived by her son, Larry "Bear" Bryant and wife Peggy of Monahans; daughter, Geretha Prather and husband Chuck of San Angelo; sisterinlaw, Polly Bean of Monahans; grandchildren, Josh Bryant, Beth Klasskin and husband Steve, Michelle Widdess and husband Mike, and Chasity Pritz and husband Robert; and greatgrandchildren, Kelcee, Shaylee, Abby, Kirkland, and Jace.

Resident Of Chloe Passed Away Last Night-Funeral Today

Monday LeBleu, 53 years old, died last night at his home in Chloe. Funeral services are to be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence. He is survived by his wife and several children. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jules LeBleu of Lake Charles.

Mr. LeBleu had been in ill health for several months.

Monta L. Hamlin, 83, died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Nalley-Pickle Rosewood Chapel. Officiating will be Royce Clay, minister of the 14th and Main Street Church of Christ. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Jan. 10, 1896, in Gorman, Tex. He had resided in Big Spring since 1903, when he moved here from Comanche. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ. He attended Draughn's Business College in Abilene. A former rancher, he retired in 1966.

He moved from his ranch into Big Spring after his retirement.

Survivors include his daughter, Juanita Hamlin; a grandson, Hulen Lee Hamlin, Plainview; two great-granddaughters; three nieces, three nephews; a sister, Mrs. R.W. McNew, Big Spring; and a brother, O.E. Hamlin, Big Spring.

Pallbearers will be Jack Buchanan, Delbert Stanley, Nolan Stanley, Macon Ulmer, Neil Spencer and Ross Westbrook.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Lloyd in 1940 and Clinton in 1969.

MOORINGSPORT, LA - David Burroughs, Sr. passed away at home June 3, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was retired from the Shreveport Police Department and owned Dave Burroughs Construction for 40 years. He was preceded in death by one son E. Aubrey Burroughs.

He is survived by wife, Ernestine Lindsey Burroughs; sons, Pat Burroughs and wife Kim, David Burroughs, Jr. and wife Caroline; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Burroughs; grandchildren, David Lee Burroughs and wife Jessica, Megan and Amber Cortez, Reggie Onstott and wife Donna and Matthew Burroughs; great-grandchildren, Aubrey May Burroughs and Cloie Onstott; brothers, Joe, Pete and Ezra Burroughs; sisters Naomi Vaughn and Rachel Adkins. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Albany. Rev. Kay Reed officiated. Burial followed in the Moran Cemetery directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.

He was born on October 17, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He married Gwen Burton in 1988. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Albany High School, and served 23 years in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion. He returned to Albany in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Gates of Moran; one son, Harry S. Gates, Jr., of Indianapolis, Indiana; one step-daughter, Tammy Titsworth and husband Paul of Euless; one step-son, Steve Taggart of Richland Hills, TX; one step-granddaughter, Laura Halbert of Moran; one brother, Rubert Gates and wife, Priscilla of Albany; as well as many nieces and nephews.

One brother, Johnny Gates preceded him in death.

HOMESTEAD, Fla., Oct. 16 - Mrs. Hester Elizabeth Walker, 70, died yesterday at the home of her son, Rev. C. N. Walker, after an illness resulting from a fractured hip suffered several months ago. Mrs. Walker's home was in Titusville but she made her home with her son the last 10 months. The body was sent tonight to Titusville where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow.

Cynthia was born May 9, 1949, daughter of the late Glen Whitaker Sr. and Mildred (Robbins) Whitaker Lentz in Sidney. She attended Sidney schools and graduated from St. Agnes in Albany. She also graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in NYC. She was married to Roger Newell in Cooperstown. They had one son. She lived in the Cooperstown area for the last 27 years. She worked for Bassett Hospital until her retirement in 2013 as an ICU Unit Clerk. Previously she lived and worked in Alaska, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Texas. In her youth she enjoyed many happy summers at Camp Otsego, in Cooperstown. She is survived by her son, Lt. Col. Mathew Newell and wife, Tiffany; grandsons, Brody Newell (6) and Rowan Newell (3) of Whiteman AFB, Missouri; sister, Candis Arthur and her husband, Lindsey; brother, Whit Whitaker and his wife, Rosemary; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Cindy will be missed by her extended family and good friends, especially by Keith Emery, Kris Chase and her beloved cat, Bubba Sue. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28, in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney. Pastor Stephen Reese will officiate. He was born in Port Arthur, TX, November 3, 1925 to Paul and Ada Abshire.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margo, to whom he was married 62 years; his son Richard Abshire and wife, Gay, grandson, Heath Abshire and wife, Breean, granddaughter, Britney Norman and husband, Paul; one great grandson, Hunter Cane Abshire, all of Groves, Texas; brothers, Charles W. Abshire and wife, Betty, of Pasadena, TX, Linwood James Abshire and wife, Joan, of Lumberton, and Lewis E. Abshire and wife, Jeanette, of Port Neches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Abbie Paul Abshire, sisters, Agnes Arnold of Port Arthur and Dorothy Palmer of Center, TX.

A.J. graduated from St. James Catholic School in Port Arthur and was immediately called to the U. S. Army. Mr. Abshire was a WWII veteran and had served in the European Theater under George Patton in the 3rd Army in Germany. Upon his return, he resided in Groves, TX and went to work for DuPont Sabine River Works in Orange, TX. He was a pre-planner in the E.N.C.O. Department. Mr. Abshire retired in 1983 and made many friends during those years. After his retirement, he and Margo moved to Wildwood, TX, where they built a lake front home. A.J. loved to work in the yard and did all the landscaping. He was also an avid golfer and a member of the M.G.A until his health failed. Mr. Abshire was a faithful member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Beaumont. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Church on Calder in Beaumont, TX on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Frank Fuller will officiate.

Mr. Boland was born in Tampa, Florida on November 22, 1946 to Lois and Ralph Boland. He graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1972, honorably discharged with the rank of Petty Officer, First Class (E6).

After leaving the Navy, Mr. Boland began a long and distinguished career with Colorado Springs Utilities, serving as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for the Martin Drake Power Plant. He retired after working at the plant for 27 1/2 years.

A man of deep faith, Mr. Boland was an active member of the Vista Grande Baptist Church, and he and his wife, Joy, were passionate about their involvement in a number of charitable organizations.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Mark and Bill.

He is survived by his wife, Joy; daughters, Jennifer Boland (Ryan Meeker) and Catherine (Adam) Page; sister, Ann (Bill) Garner; and two granddaughters.

Mr. Beckham was born April 15, 1965, in Atlanta, Texas, and had lived most of his life in Doddridge. He was a member of Line Creek Baptist Church in Ida, Louisiana, and was a welder and iron worker.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Beckham of Doddridge, Arkansas, three daughters, Haley Beckham of Atlanta, Texas, Tiffany Smith of Ft. Benning, Georgia, and Christina Garcia of New Boston, Texas, one son, Michael Garcia of Austin, Texas, his mother, Linda Spruell Beckham of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Becky Beckham and Leslie and Tobie Dunlap of Doddridge, Arkansas, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A. M. Saturday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. George Goynes officiating. Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery, Doddridge, Arkansas.

Mr. Charles Oscar Crowder, 84, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away and went to be with his Lord Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at the Promise Hospital in Bossier City. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, in the Oakland Cemetery, Navasota, Texas, with the Rev. Henry Sanders officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Charles was born on July 1, 1935 in LaGrange, Kentucky, the ninth of ten children, to Eugene Hobert and Lura Etta (Dallas) Crowder. He joined the United States Air Force in 1954 before marrying the love of his life, Valda Gene (Jean) McNew of Big Spring, Texas on July 2, 1955. He loved playing the guitar, which he was excellent at doing. He chose staying at home to raise his family instead of playing professionally and traveling on the road.

Before retiring in 1993, Charles and his family ran service stations and fishing tackle businesses in Kentucky. After selling his businesses and retiring, he and his wife did some traveling and then moved to Texas to be with their sons and grandchildren. Charles was an avid fisherman and loved being on the water, in his boat, wetting a hook. Besides fishing and picking at his guitar, he started selling purses and leather goods in parking lots and flea markets across Navasota and the surrounding area. Charles loved talking with people and was known as the "Purse Man" in the white van.

Charles siblings described him as a "one-of-a-kind brother" who was always positive, loving his family and never sitting still. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. His three sons described him as being a wonderful father, keeping the family together and raised them to be honest and respectable men - "Thank you Dad for being the greatest dad we could ever ask for."

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Valda Gene Crowder; parents, Eugene Hobert and Lura Etta (Dallas) Crowder; brothers, William E. (Bud) Crowder, John W. (Jay) Crowder, Joseph H. (Joe) Crowder; sisters, Lillian M. Speer, Jessie M. Smith, Edna M. Fendley, Helen F. Crowder; brothers-in-law, Amos Speer, James A. Mr. Clet LeBlanc, Jr., aged 46 years, died at his home in Lafayette last Wednesday night after a long illness. His remains were interred in the cemetery at Broussard the following day.

Mr. LeBlanc was a resident of the fourth ward up to a few months ago when he moved to Lafayette with his family. He was an honest man, a good friend and a father and husband who was devoted to his family. In his death the community loses a worthy citizen who was always ready to do his share for the honor and credit of his country. Though it was perhaps in the humbler walks of life his influence was always exerted for the good and against the bad.

Mr. Cody Michael Brown, 18, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, from injuries sustained in an accident. He was a native of Milton, Fla., and a longtime resident of Brewton. He was of the Baptist faith, played football at W.S. Neal High School, a 2009 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, and employed at the family business, Greg?s Tire and Wheel. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debbie McNew Brown; and his grandfathers, Mickey Brown and James McNew.

He is survived by his father, Greg Brown of Brewton; his grandmothers, Raye B. Brown of Brewton and Diane Prihoda of East Brewton; his step-mother, Rhonda Brown of Brewton; a stepsister, Brooke Parker; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He attended Hillsboro High School and four years at Hill College. He served 20 years in the U. S. Navy. He was a certified dispatcher working for Eastland County Dispatch, Eastland County Cooperative and Hillsboro Police Department for several years. He married Martha Jane Mann on October 20, 1991 in Hillsboro. He proudly served his country as a soldier in the U. S. Army and was a member of the VFW Post 4006. Mr. Greer worked in construction as a carpenter throughout his life.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Marvin Luttrell of Ferris, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Linda Greer of Navasota; 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Mr. James Thomas Vessels, Jr., age 62 of Whitney, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016. He was born May 25, 1953 in Ennis, Texas, son of the late James Thomas and Illa Claudette Martin Vessels, Sr. He grew up and attended schools in Ennis before enlisting with the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked in the Oil Industry for several years. "Junior," as he was called by family and friends, then became a self employed handyman. He was skilled in carpentry, landscaping and could fix just about anything that was broken. He moved to the Whitney area in the early nineties and enjoyed fishing whenever he had time. He also loved listening to country music. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of American Legion Post 522. Also preceding him in death were three uncles, Arthur Cecil Vessels, Robert Lynn Vessels and David Reese Martin and one aunt, Annetta Wickliff. Survivors include three sisters, Jackie Frazier and husband Luke, Jean Brown and husband Randy and Annetta Kay Horn; two brothers, John David Vessels and Gary Lynn Vessels and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing and visitation with family and friends will be held Tuesday, January 5 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Mr. Joseph Paul Crnkovic, 93, was born March 18, 1907, in Starilaz, Yugoslavia. He died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Schumpert Medical Center. He immigrated to the U. S. in 1910, at the age of three years, settling with his parents in Sabine Parish.

Mr. Crnkovic was self educated. He was a carpenter and painter, a farmer, a barber, an early auto mechanic, and a musician. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. He was especially devoted to the Blessed Mother. He firmly believed in the sanctity of life, and had a great respect for all living things.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Father David Richter officiated.

Survivors include seven grandchildren, Elaine Crnkovic, Nanette Crnkovic, Karen Crnkovic Brady, Vernon Crnkovic Jr., Paul Crnkovic, Darrell Crnkovic, and Michael Crnkovic; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Crnkovic; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.

Mr. S.A. "Booty" Bourgeois died Thursday afternoon at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was 81 years old. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Orange, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Mr. Bourgeois is survived by JoAnn, his wife of 58 years. He is also survived by sisters, Nora Lee Sanders and Jeannete Calhoun; six nieces; and six nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, S.A. Bourgeois Sr. and Virginia Miller Bourgeois; a sister, Vivian Carr; and a brother, Herman Bourgeois.

He was born in Orange, Texas, on October 25, 1927, and graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in Orange in 1945. Shortly after graduation, he volunteered for the U.S. Army and served 18 months during World War II. In 1948, he went to work for the Texas Highway Department and was involved with the construction of highways and bridges in the Southeast Texas area. In 1950, he was employed at the DuPont Chemical Co. in Orange. He retired as mechanical foreman in 1985 with 35 years of service.

He was a former member of the Orange Lions Club and the Orange Boating Club. He was an avid golfer and a true Texas Longhorn fan through good and bad times. He had resided in Longview for the last 14 years.

Pallbearers will be Robert Bourgeois, Steven Sanders, Tom Goodwyn, David Goodwyn, Dick Porter and Reid Caruthers.

Mr. Thomas Jefferson Sepulvado, 65, of Zwolle, died at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 3, at the Sabine Medical Center in Many. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 6, 1985, at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many. Officiating was Msgr. Matthew Scanlon.

Mr. Sepulvado is survived by his wife, Katherine Kezerle Sepulvado of Zwolle; six sons, Thomas J. Sepulvado, Jr. of Zwolle, Timothy A. Sepulvado of Belmont, Michael W. Sepulvado of Pleasant Hill, Dennis K. Sepulvado of Noble, Anthony R. Sepulvado of Noble, and William J. Sepulvado of Noble; three brothers, Martin H. Sepulvado of Zwolle, Murry W. Sepulvado of Zwolle, and Walter C. Sepulvado of Boyce, La.; one sister, Catherine Martinez of Zwolle; and seven grandchildren.

Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Zwolle, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.

A Rosary was held at 7 p.m., Friday, April 5. Memorial services were held on Monday, April 8, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mr. Timothy 'Timmy' Clifford Baldwin, age 21, of Douglasville, GA, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004. He was born October 26, 1982 in Lithia Springs, GA. Timmy was a senior at the University of Georgia where he was majoring in speech communications and journalism. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Timmy graduated with honors from Douglas County High School in 2001. He was an avid golfer and as a member of the varsity golf team won several individual awards. He was very active at St. Theresa Catholic Church where he taught CCD classes. Tim was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward J. Shea; his paternal grandmother, Jane M. Baldwin; and his brother, Weston M Baldwin. He is survived by father, Dr. Ricahrd L. and Donna Baldwin, Douglasville, GA; mother, Mary Jane Shea Baldwin and partner Dr. Linda D. Mr. Vernon E. Crnkovic, Sr., 64, of Las Cruces, NM died Friday, Nov. 21 in Las Cruces, NM. He was a former resident of Zwolle.

Mr. Crnkovic retired from the White Sands Missile Range.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Clyde Cemetery in Zwolle.

Survivors include his father, Joseph Paul Crnkovic of Zwolle; his widow, Gloria Hairston Crnkovic of Las Cruces, NM; four sons, Vernon Eugene Crnkovic and wife. Dawn of Shawnee, Okla., Paul Crnkovic and wife, Elsa of San Antonio, Texas, Darrell Crnkovic and wife, Tonya of Jacksboro, Texas and Michael Crnkovic and wife Kenna of Sante, Texas; three daughters, Karen Brady and husband, Ron of Canton, Conn. and Nanette Crnkovic and Elaine Crnkovic of Las Cruces, NM.; 10 grandchildren; and many friends. Mr. Walker on Wesley Harrison's place four miles west of town died Wednesday night about nine o'clock and was buried in the Cache Creek cemetery Thursday afternoon. He was the father of Mrs. J.T. Brothers, who lives on Howe Bros. place, but lived with his granddaughter, Mrs. J.B. Bryant. He had no special disease, but died of old age. He would have been 88 years old next Sunday.

Mr. Wayne F. Swain, Sr., of Lithonia, passed away Monday, February 3, 1992. He was a veteran of U.S. Army, W.W. II serving in the European Theatre and a member of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna. Mr. Swain was employed with the L & N Railroad as a Station Master for several years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edwina M. Swain, Winder; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Swain, Covington; Mr. Wayne F. Mrs R.W. (Della) McNew, 92, died Thursday morning at her home following a lengthy illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Claude Craven, pastor, and Rev. Guy White, pastor at East Fourth Street Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born Jan. 21, 1893, in Gorman. She married Roy W. McNew Aug. 22, 1914, in Huto. He died Sept. 24, 1967.

She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and the Big Spring Rebekah Lodge No. 284. She attended college at Stepp. She also attended the Catholic convent in Stanton for one year because it was the only school in the county at that time.

She moved to Howard County in 1903 in a covered wago with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee S. Hamlin. they farmed and ranched north of Big Spring until 1936 when they moved to Big Spring.

Her daughter, Callie Bennett, was living with her at the time of her death.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, R.X. "Jack" McNew and Ruth McNew of Big Spring; three daughters, Callie Bennett; Mrs. Jeff (Bonnie) Skeen and Mrs. Dwight (Gerturde) McCann, all of Big Spring; one son-in-law, Byron McCracken of Big Spring; one brother, O.E. Hamlin of Big Spring; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Other relatives include one daughter, Ethel Mae McCracken, who died Oct. 31, 1977; a granddaughter, Polly Clem, who died in July 1975; a grandson, Timothy Davidson, who died on Dec. 25, 1980, and one brother, M.L. Hamlin, deceased.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rodgers, Robert Cline, William McNew, Rodney Cline, Danny Clark and Rube McNew.

Mrs. A. Butaud Rites Are Held

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday for Mrs. Alcibiade Butaud, 91, the former Celestina LeBlanc, of Lake Charles, the mother of six Vermilion residents.

Religious services were conducted in the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic church in Abbeville with burial following in the New Catholic cemetery under the direction of the Moss funeral home.

Survivors include six sons, Sidney and A.J., both of Henry, L.J. and Paul, both of Abbeville, C.L. and Robert, both of Amelia, Tex.; five daughters, Mrs. Henry Gautreaux and Mrs. Eugene Gautreaux, both of Abbeville, Mrs. W.H. Betteron of Port Neches, Texas, Mrs. Frank Martin of Franklin and Mrs. Tom Faulk of Lake Charles; 24 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.

The six sons served as pallbearers.

STAMFORD, Aug. 23-(Spl) - Mrs. A. J. Harrison, 58, resident of Jayton for 31 years, died at her home today. Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the family home with burial in the Jayton cemetery under direction of Kinney Funeral Home of Stamford.

She had been a member of the Church of Christ since childhood.

Survivors are her husband; four sons, Newton of Odessa, L. C. of Dallas, George of Jayton and J. D. of Goldsmith; and nine daughters, Hattie Mae Harrison of Jayton, and Mmes. Resident 20 Years Dies Of Heart Trouble

Mrs. Paul Abshire, 36, a resident of this section for 20 years, died of heart trouble yesterday at 6 p.m. at her home at Kolb's crossing after an illness of three weeks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of Grammier's.

Mrs. Abshire was a native of Rayne, La.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. J.M. White and Miss Dorothy Abshire; five sons, Abbie, A.J., Wilford, L.J. and L.E. Abshire, all of Kolb's crossing; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Talbot; two sisters, Mrs. E. Champagne and Mrs. Albert LeBouef; four brothers, E., F., W. and C. Talbot, all of Port Arthur; and one grandchild, James White of Kolb's crossing.
