BEDFORD - Iva Dolores Petty, 83, went to her eternal home with our Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2015.

FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Trail Church of Christ, 1801 Brown Trail, Bedford. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet.

Dolores was born in Seymour and lived most of her life in Bedford. She lived her life with the utmost integrity and respect for our Lord, her family, and all people she came in contact with. Dolores was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was a member of the Brown Trail Church of Christ for over 38 years, where she felt very loved.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Elmer Roy Petty.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Danny Petty, Randy Roy Petty and wife, Rosie; grandchildren, Danna Buck and husband, James, Danul Petty, Lina Reyes, David Reyes III, and Rodney Sutton and wife, Mary; great-grandchildren, Sierra Hensley, James Buck and Coal Petty; brother, Royce Brothers and wife, Marie; sister-in-law, Ada Lee; and very special cousin, Joan Dawson-Rieger.

J. 'Eddy' Champagne

GROVES - Joseph "Eddy" Champagne, 87, of Groves died Monday at St. Mary Hospital.

He was born in Erath, La., and was a Port Arthur-Groves area resident since 1912. He was a retired welder boilermaker with Chevron. He was a member of the AFL-CIO and Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Local 4-23.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A wake is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Vidrine of Groves; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

J. A. BUMGARDNER

J. A. Bumgardner, 77 years old, and for 60 years a resident of Bossier parish where he emigrated from Talladega, Ala., in 1865, died Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of his son, J. A. Bumgardner, Jr., 2124 Seymour street. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the home of his son-in-law, Lonnie Houston, 3149 Samford avenue, where services conducted by Dr. M. E. Dodd and the Rev. Winston Borum, pastor and assistant pastor of the First Baptist church, of which he was a member. The body will be sent to Linton for burial. He was married June 10, 1880 to Miss Alwilda Ketura Holly and to them eight children were born, three of whom survive him, Mrs. J. G. Warfield of Houston, and J. A. and John Bumgardner of Shreveport. Two brothers, L. R. and W. R. Bumgardner, both of Linton, also survive him. He was a veteran of the Confederacy and a member of Gen. LeRoy Stafford Camp, U. C. V., Shreveport.

J. D. Taylor Rites Set In California

Funeral services for J. D. Taylor, 49, former Spur resident and brother of two Lubbock women, will be conducted Thursday at Modesto, Calif., where he had lived several years.

Burial will be in a Modesto cemetery. Taylor died at 5 a.m. Monday in a Modesto hospital. A native of Spur, Taylor had lived there until moving to California.

Survivors are his wife, Myrna; two daughters, Mrs. Gayle Lemmings, Modesto, and Sandra Taylor, of the home; two brothers, W. L., Muleshoe, and R. C., Abilene; seven sisters, Mrs. A. J. Bilberry, 6312 24th St., Mrs. J. H. Webb, 3814 22nd Pl., Mrs. O. C. Henry, Modesto, Mrs. J. E. Willis, Girard, Mrs. C. E. Hagar, Jayton, Mrs. A. L. Offield, Cross Plains, and Mrs. J. C. Arnett, Delta, Colo., and two grandsons.

J. D. Warren, age 37, of the Rock Prairie community, died Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock after seventeen years of illness. Funeral services were held at 4:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Millican. He is survived by his wife and three children. Sanders-McCullough Company were in charge of the funeral arrangements. The sympathies of the Wellborn community are with the family.

J. E. Brown

J.E. Brown, age 84, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2001, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m Saturday, August 4, 2001, at the Seymour Church of Christ with A.B. Martin officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown was born July 13, 1917 in Baylor County, Texas to Frank and Lulabelle Hunt Brown, and was a lifelong resident of Baylor County. He married Alma Nix on January 24, 1942 in Seymour, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 26, 1992. He then married Viola Casey on February 14, 1993 in Seymour. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a tractor mechanic for Wesley Harrison and Moody Johnson, and had farmed since the early 1960s.

He is survived by his wife, Viola of Seymour, Texas; by two sons, Ron Brown of Burkburnett, Texas, and Wayne Brown of McKinney, Texas; by three sisters, Glenna Mills of Houston, Texas, Jane Laxson of Franklin, Texas, and Louise Ridgeway of Dallas, Texas; by one brother, Foster Brown of Young County, Texas; by four grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Christina Rippentrop, Joy Ringwood and Daniel Brown; and by four great grandchildren, Marissa Ringwood, McKenzie Ringwood, Justin Rippentrop and Carson Rippentrop.

J.E. is also survived by Viola’s children, Barbara Cook and Sharon Heim, both of Seymour, Texas, Jimmy Wooten of Weatherford, Texas, and Ricky Wooten of Fort Worth, Texas, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

J. F. Adkins, Sr. Succumbs at 73

Funeral services will be held at New Sarepta Baptist Church for John Franklin Adkins Sr., 73, of Sarepta, who died in a Shreveport hospital at 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Rev. R. O. Bazer, former pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of the Brunson Funeral Home of Bossier City.

Mr. Adkins was a farmer and well-known property owner.

Surviving are his widow: three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Bigham and Mrs. Isha Cloud, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Ruth Service of Rodessa; three sons, Houston Adkins of Price, Tex., John F. Adkins Jr. of Cotton Valley, and Penny Adkins of Mineral Wells, Tex.; five stepsons, J. E. Wills of Cotton Valley, Trebanion Deloach of Delhi, Tom Deloach of Sarepta, James W. Deloach of Dallas, and J. A. Deloach of Shreveport; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Margaret D. Clark of Napoleonville, Mrs. Elizabeth D. LeCroy of Sarepta, and Mrs. Charlene Sullivan and Mrs. Doris Sullivan, both of Benton; and three sisters, Mrs. W. E. Wiley, Mrs. Lena Delafield, and Mrs. Abit Moore, all of Sarepta.

Pallbearers will be Gwen Adkins, Billy Service, George Cloud, J. A. Deloach, Jack Clark, and Robert Stokes. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.

1858 Obituary:

J. F. Campbell With the Dead.

The Shreveport Times in its issue of the 6th gave the following notice of the death of Rev. J. F. Campbell, at one time the resident Baptist minister in this place:

J. F. Campbell, pastor of the Baptist Church at Bernice died in that place last Friday afternoon, aged 50 years, and was buried at Keatchie.

Mr. Campbell had been pastor of different Baptist churches in the State for the past fifteen or eighteen years. For eleven or twelve years he was Recording Secretary of the Louisiana State Baptist Convention.

The deceased had been ill but five days, being stricken suddenly with heart trouble. He leaves two sons and three daughters to mourn his loss.

J. F. Jeanmard, Prominent Local Citizen, Dead: Funeral Tuesday

Was Sec'y of Home Building, Loan Association, Former Member Of School Board

J. Frank Jeanmard, one of Lafayette's best-known citizens, took his own life this morning, using a shotgun in the suicide which occurred about 6:00 o'clock at the family home on Dunreath Street.

Dr. M. M. Mouton, coroner, who viewed the body and held an inquiry, said Mr. Jeanmard's death was due to suicide while temporarily insane.

Mr. Jeanmard, who was 58 years, two months and 16 days of age, had served as secretary of the Home Building and Loan Association of this city since the association was organized in 1906. He had been in failing health for about two years and during the past two months his condition became so serious that relatives feared he was on the verge of a nervous collapse.

A native of Breaux Bridge, Mr. Jeanmard was born September 21, 1873, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jules Jeanmard, his mother being before her marriage, Miss Blanche Brown.

Active in business and public affairs, Mr. Jeanmard was prominent in building and loan circles of Louisiana. He served for six years as a member of the Lafayette Parish School Board. He was a Past Grand Knight of Lafayette Council, Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Jeanmard was married over 20 years ago to Miss Lucille Perez. He is survived by his widow, four daughters, Misses Marie Louise, Lucille, Blanche and Anna Marie Jeanmard, and one son, Jules Jeanmard, all of this city; five brothers, including Right Reverend Jules B. Jeanmard, Bishop of Lafayette, J. R., Charles and Dr. H. A. Jeanmard, all of Lafayette, and George Jeanmard of Ville Platte; and two sisters, Mrs. Cyrus Guidry and Mrs. Alexandre Pellerin, both of Lake Charles.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 8:45 at St. John's Cathedral, the funeral cortege leaving the home at 8:30. The family has asked that flowers be omitted.

Members of Lafayette Council, Knights of Columbus, have been requested to attend.

Interment will take place in St. John's cemetery.

The funeral arrangements are in charge of A. A. Crouchet, with the Dauterive Undertaking Company.

J. Gary Kenny

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - J. Gary Kenny, 49, a sporting goods salesman, died Wednesday at a Bedford hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

J. Gary Kenny was born Sept. 21, 1946, in Fort Worth. He was a member of Seminary Bible Fellowship Church (Tyndale Theological Seminary) and was formerly a deacon at Davis Boulevard Baptist Church and Harwood Terrace Baptist Church. Mr. Kenny was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the VFW.

Survivors: Wife, Beverly Kenny of North Richland Hills; son, Lance Kenny of North Richland Hills; daughter, Kelly Kenny of North Richland Hills; parents, Bob and Vodine Kenny of Fort Worth; and brothers, David Kenny and Don Kenny, both of Fort Worth.

J. L. SPENCE DIED AT HOME HERE TODAY

James L. Spence, age 64 years, died this morning at 5 o'clock at his home on north Drake street. Four years ago the deceased was stricken with paralysis from which he never recovered sufficiently to pursue his vocation. He is survived by his wife and three sons, Orbie and Clyde of Jonesboro, James of Monroe, La., two brothers, Joe and Jasper residing on farms south of this city and a sister, Mrs. Thorn of Thayer, Mo.

Mr. Spence was an old resident of Craighead county and grew to manhood on a farm south of the city. Up to the time of his paralytic stroke he had been an engineer on the Cotton Belt railroad.

Funeral services will be conducted from the residence tomorrow afternoon at 1:30. Rev. Hammond and King of Fisher Street Methodist church officiating with burial in the City cemetery in charge of J. B. Gregg & Son.

The pall bearers are the following members of the B. of R.T.; Frank Smith, A. A. Goin, R. C. Cloyd, J. C. Marcom, R. R. Hortin and T. A. Howlett.

J. N. Shepperd's Rites In Bryan

Funeral services for J. N. Shepperd, 64, native of Big Sandy who was an English professor at A&M University for the past 25 years, will be held in the First Christian Church in Bryan at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Shepperd, who was the brother of W. W. Shepperd of Longview, collapsed at noon Wednesday while he was walking across the campus with some students. He died en route to a hospital.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Shepperd, Big Sandy merchants, Shepperd had taught school in Gladewater, Hughes Springs, Naples and at Allen's Academy before becoming associated with the university.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Sheppard; two step- sons; a sister and three other brothers.

James Prescott Adams, 77 year-old retired Madison County rancher, died Monday morning at his Bryan residence, 506 W. 27th Street.

Adams, who retired and moved to Bryan in 1940, was born Sept. 7, 1883, in North Zulch. Funeral services are slated for 2 PM Wednesday at Willow Hole Baptist Church in Madison County with the Rev. Van Sickle of North Zulch officiating. Burial will be in Willow Hole Cemetery.

John Thomas "Bubba" Brown, 52, of 1311 W. Faulker St., died around 11 p.m. Monday at his home from an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Brown was manager of the used car department of George Morgan Motors. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Eleanor Brown; a daughter, Miss Eleanor Brown of El Dorado; his mother, Mrs. Audrey Brown of Cotton Plant; a brother, Edmund B. Brown of Batesville; and a sister, Mrs. W. T. Wilkins of Clarksdale, Miss.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.

J.D. Ford, Jr.
March 30, 1945 ~ November 30, 2019

J.D. Ford, Jr., 74, of Whitney, Texas passed from this life on November 30, 2019 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Texas following many years of living with chronic health issues. J.D. was born on March 30, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas to J.D. and Vadena (nee May) Ford, Sr.

J. D. was the youngest of four sons. He graduated from Abbott High School in 1964. He served in the Army from 1966-1969. During that time, he spent a year in Vietnam. While in the Army, he achieved the rank of Specialist E-5 as an equipment repairman. While in Vietnam, he volunteered for high risk search and recovery missions in his off-duty hours, searching for and rescuing American POW's. Following discharge from the military, J.D. settled in Arlington, Texas and later moved to Hillsboro, Texas. He spent his final years in Whitney, Texas.

Shortly before being deployed, J.D. married his high school sweetheart Sandra Lynn Crenshaw in March of 1966. They had two children, a son and a daughter. During his life, he spent many years in the truck driving industry, both in local sales routes with Keebler, and Dr Pepper, and Frito-Lay, and in later years, he drove over-the-road routes. He also spent some time in the late 1980's managing Jim's Foreign Car Service for his brother Jim. He was forced to retire from truck driving in 2000 following a stroke which left him blind in his left eye. During his retirement, he ran the thrift store for the local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars until his health declined and he was no longer able to work. He dealt with many health issues in the last 20 years of his life. He fought valiantly to maintain a quality of life and proved to be quite resilient through the years.

J.D. is survived by his daughter Stacie Ford-Burleson and husband Todd Burleson and his son Jerald Ford; as well as three grandchildren: Kacy Ford, Emma Ford, and Garrett Burleson. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Hollis Ford, Charles "Sonny" Ford, and Jim Ford.

J.D. Hoffpauir SR. 59 Long time resident of Winnie, Texas passed away January 1, 2018 in Beaumont, Texas. He was a loving father, son, uncle, nephew and friend to many. J.D. was born August 5, 1958 in Winshire, Texas. His parents were David and Ida Mae Smith Hoffpauir.

J.D. loved to spend time with his son James. He loved to watch John Wayne movies and to cook and try out new recipes. he was a devoted Christian who loved the lord and his church. He attended the Trinity Church in Winnie. He also loved his church family.

Preceding him in death are his parents David and Ida Mae Hoffpauir; Brother Mike Hoffpauir; Sister Georgia Mae Hoffpauir; Aunt Juanita Pierce, and Stepmother Jo Hoffpauir.

He leaves behid to cherish his memory, his son James Douglas Hoffpauir Jr., brother Robert Hoffpauir and wife Vickie, nephews Brian Hoffpauir, Billy Bob Hoffpauir and wife Jaime, nieces Katrina Wright and husband Josh, Tina Workman and husband Bob, Ex Wife Tammy Bennett Wood.

Funeral services for James E. Bumgardner, 55, of 6701 Jefferson-Paige Road will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshall Street Chapel with the Rev. Kemuel Corkern, pastor of Red River Baptist Church, officiating.

Masonic graveside rites will be held at Red River Cemetery near Benton.

Mr. Bumgardner died Friday morning at his home following a lengthy illness.

A resident of Shreveport most of his life, he was a body and fender mechanic and was a member of the Queensborough Baptist Church and a mason.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Bumgardner of Shreveport; two daughters, Joy Weiland and Janet Gates, both of Shreveport, and a step-daughter, Anita Fincher of Memphis, Tenn.; four sisters, Mrs. Tom Elkins of Natchitoches, Mary Bass of Slidell and Beth Sistrunk and Ada Brown, both of Shreveport; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert Edwards, Herschell Garderson, Glen Bass, Tom Elkins, Dickie Wallace and Frank Johnson.

It is with great sadness that the family of J.E. Pate announce his passing.

J.E. died quietly in his sleep at his home on Monday morning Dec. 16, 2019. He went to join his wife Rita Sue Pate.

J.E. was preceded in death by his wife Rita Pate and parents Jep Earl Pate Sr. and Hulda Pate. He will be lovingly remembered by his surviving family: his Sister Mary Morris and husband Don Morris of Belton, his son Alan Pate and wife Tracie Pate of Magnolia, Daughter Valerie Pate of Spring and six grandchildren, Heather Pate, Chris Pate, Sarah Pate, Jenna Pate, Kim Wallace, and Amber Corpus. As well as three great grandchildren: Addison Pate, Wyatt and Everleigh Wallace.

J.E. was born in Athens, Texas in 1940 and his family moved to Schwab City before settling in Livingston, Texas in 1946 where he grew up and graduated from Livingston High School while playing baseball and basketball on the high school team and working at the Livestock Auction Barn. He attended college in Beaumont, Texas at Lamar University where he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering but most importantly met the love of his life Rita Sue Crow whom he soon married. He later obtained his Master's in Engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

He created his home for his family in LaMarque, Texas and is where he met and befriended his many lifelong friends through work and his and Rita's participation in the Jaycees service organization.

He worked in the field he loved (Civil Engineering) his entire life first for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Galveston, Texas then as a partner at Pate Engineers in Houston, Texas from where he retired in 2010. He and Rita moved to Spring, Texas in the later part of his career and both enjoyed his retirement in the Spring area.

He made many friends during his lifetime and had a reputation as a practical and fair man in business and a good natured, friendly, and kind man in social settings.

The friends he made and maintained through social groups and business dealings and the relationships with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as the importance he placed upon them speaks volumes to the type of man he was.

A celebration of his life will be held at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379 at 10:00 on December 20, 2019. Following the service his family would like to invite you to a continued celebration at his home at 18502 Arlan Lakes Drive, Spring, Texas 77388 to honor his memory.

The Service will be conducted by Pastor Andrew Wolfe and family and friends will share their stories and memories of J.E.

J.P. McIntyre Dies Friday With Burial To Be Held Sunday

J. P. McIntyre, 71, of 2808 Avenue R., died Friday at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the home with the Rev. Albert E. Davis, pastor of the Church of the Air, officiating. Interment will be in Rosemont under the direction of the Owens & Brumley Funeral home of Burkburnett.

Mr. McIntyre is survived by his widow, four sons and seven daughters and three brothers. The children include E. S., J. B., R. L., and Jesse McIntyre; Mrs. E. Q. Smith, Mrs. E. E. Campbell, Mrs. M. N. Hearne and Miss Vera McIntyre, all of Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Marion Brothers of Seymour, Mrs. A. Blaskowsky of Hargill, Texas, and Mrs. Charles Shakes of Santa Ana, Calif.

The brothers are J. McIntyre of Wichita Falls, G. P. of Corpus Christi, and W. R. McIntyre of Paris.

WICHITA FALLS - J.W. "Jake" Brothers, 71, died Tuesday in a local care center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Embree officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.

Mr. Brothers was born in Seymour and was a longtime resident of Wichita Falls. He was employed in the city of Wichita Falls' parks department.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion and was a veteran of World War II.

He was the widower of Lillian Love Hamrick Brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Givens and Wanda McClure, both of Electra; a son, Johnnie Ray Dougherty of Sanford, Maine; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Jack C. Bennett, 81, of Big Spring, died on Monday, April 15, 2002, in a local veterans home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born on September 7, 1920 in Mitchell County, Texas. He met Bonnie McNew in 1940 and they married on March 31, 1941 in Big Spring, Texas. The two were business partners and associates and best friends for over 60 years.

Jack moved to Howard County in 1937 from Mitchell County. He brought the Tennessee and Gandy Milk distributorships to Big Spring. He had owned and operated three grocery stores, the Rainbow Inn Cafe and in later years H & S Construction and Jack Bennett House Moving Company.

He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce. Jack served in the United States Army during World War II, stationed in Japan with the Head Quarter and Service Company, 146th Engineer Battalion from 1944 to 1946.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Bennett of Big Spring; two grandchildren, Tammy Davidson of Big Spring and Terri Peterson of Vealmoor; five great-grandchildren, Bryan Sledge, Michael Seay, Jason Seay, Taylor Peterson and Lexi Peterson; two great-great-grandchildren, Kristian Seay and Helena Seay; five brothers and sisters-in-law, J. R., Jr. and Jessie Bennett of Coahoma, Gerald and Nelda Bennett of Pecos, Bill and Johnnie Bennett and Eugene and Linda Bennett all of Sand Springs, and William and Patsy Bennett of Big Spring; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Mildred Shortes of Cisco, Faye Jean and Don Tarbet, Betty and Donald Bertram and Peggy and Jerry Allen all of Denison, and Patsy and James Baird of Big Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Jack Humberto Terry will be held on Sunday July 19, 2015 at 2pm at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City, Louisiana.

Jack was a beloved father, brother grandfather, and great grandfather. He entered eternal life on July 16, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. Jack's honored wish was to have his body donated to the LSU Medical University.

Jack was born on August 10, 1927 in La Ceiba, Honduras. During his senior year of high school he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on July 17, 1947. After being discharged he finished high school and graduated from Pasadena High School in Pasadena, Texas. He was a longtime helicopter pilot for PHI. Jack flew in South America and Saudi Arabia and later in the states until his retirement.

Jack is survived by a brother Wayne Terry and wife Dee, daughters Terry Lee Krueger and husband Royce, Jerry Lynn Terry and a son Jack Humberto Terry, Jr. He is also survived by four grandchildren Christian and wife Megan and Cory Krueger, Kacey and Kori Pacetti and five great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Terry, parents Humberto and Chloe Terry, sister Jean and brother Joe.

Jack was born in Cahaba Heights, AL to William Jackson Leachman and Susan Howard Leachman and died May 30, 2015, from surgery complications, in Shreveport, LA. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, served in Vietnam and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Jack also retired from the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department after 20 years of service. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church and a member and past Master of Cypress Masonic Lodge #89. He enjoyed life to its fullest, including traveling, playing games (especially dominos), watching the Cowboys, and driving his red Mustang.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 49 years, Hazel Dalrymple Leachman and siblings, Gene Leachman, Audrey Venable and Violet Tucker.

Jack is survived by his wife, Sarah Leachman; daughters, Rita Gail Temple and husband, Tony, Jackie Sue Maggio and husband, Sam, Marcia Lynn Leachman and fiancé, Terry Rourk, and Christie Mitchell and husband, Jarrod; stepson, Barry Plunkett and wife, DeeAnne; grandchildren, Deborah Maxwell (Robbie), Joey Maggio (Becky), Jennifer Tubb (John), Amanda King (Brady), Susanne Temple, Ashley Coker, Kelly Mitchell, Shelby Plunkett, Dylan Plunkett and great grandchildren, Gabi and Malachi Maxwell and Wyatt Tubb. NEW IBERIA - A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Jack O. Broussard, age 91, at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Fr. Charles Langlois will be the celebrant. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

Jack Oswald Broussard was born April 15, 1922 in New Iberia to the late Dessard Broussard and Evelyn Delcambre Broussard, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Maison Teche Nursing Home, with his family at his side. Mr. Broussard was a graduate of St. Peter's College. He began working at the New Iberia National Bank on September 15, 1938, (a career that would span over 62 years) and rose to the title of Chief Executive Officer, holding that position until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Two years after returning from the war, he married the love of his life, Anita Mae Henry on September 18, 1948 and had three children. He leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children, Dwyer H. Broussard and wife Sandy of Baton Rouge, Debra B. Spell and husband Wayne of New Iberia, and Jodi B. Cross and husband Bobby of Salina, Kansas; six grandchildren, Beth S. Arton and husband Art, Traci S. Guilbeau and husband Jerrod, Justin Spell and wife Jessica, Amy B. Nelson and husband Terry, Andrea Broussard, and Allyson G. Carlson and husband Todd; 14 great grandchildren; and his brother, Dr. Nicholas Delcambre Broussard of Oregon.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anita Henry Broussard.

Jack Palmer, 75, of Center, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2018 in Center. He was born on October 6, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas to Delbert Jack Palmer and Dorothy M. Abshire Palmer. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Mangum Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Jack lived in Port Arthur until the age of nine when his family moved to Tenaha. After a brief stay there, they eventually settled in Center where Jack would graduate from Center High School with the class of 1961.

Jack was a quiet and reserved man. From a young age he developed a passion for cars and most especially he loved his 1932 Ford Hot Rod. He and some of his friends even had a car club in high school called the "Pacemakers." There was nothing better than getting out on a bright and sunny day to cruise the city streets in his pride and joy. He also liked to fire up the barbecue pit and to cook for his family and friends. Those precious moments spent with the ones closest to him will be treasured forever.

Jack is survived by his brother, Kenneth Palmer and wife, Ella; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Dorothy Palmer.

He was born on July 3, 1932 in Auxier, KY, the son of the late Hobert and Abbie (Richmond) Wells.

Jack married the former JoAnn Skelton on April 15 1996 in Jerseyville, IL. She survives.

He was an over head carne operator for Laclede Steel for 41 years before retiring. Jack served his country in the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights, Also he was a member of the Alton VFW Post 1308 and the Society of the Third.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Mark Wallace of Louisville, KY, Jennifer and Chris Hamby of Wood River; a step daughter, Carla and John Brommet of Florida; a step son Carl and Phyllis McClellan of Aton; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Wells; a brother, Kermit Wells; and a sister Ileana May.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 2pm until 4pm, at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral Service will be at 11 am, on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, with Pastor Dan Smith officiating.

Alton VFW Post 1308 Ritual Team will conduct military honors, following the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held at a 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 13, 1994 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Jack W. Daigle, 59, who died at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, 1994 at his residence in Lafayette.

Interment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum of the Resurrection. Rev. Joseph Stemmann, pastor of the St. John Church, Henry, will conduct the services.

Jack was a native of Lafayette, the son of the late Frank Daigle and Laura Marie LeBlanc. He attended Cathedral, Immaculate High School, and Southwestern Louisiana Institute. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force for 14 years and worked for the Department of Defense, retiring in 1990 with 34 years of government service.

Mr. Daigle is survived by his wife, the former Mary Ann Toussel, Lafayette; one daughter, Jacqueline Ann Daigle, Lafayette; one grandson, Joshua Adam Daigle, Lafayette; three brothers, Brother Thomas Daigle, F.S.C., Denver, Co.; Frank Daigle, New Orleans, and Richard Daigle, El Paso, Texas; and one sister, Mrs. Leo (Helen) Borel, Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Daigle, John Henry Daigle, and James Daigle.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home Sunday at 7 p.m. The funeral is under the direction of Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Jackson LeBleu, Chloe Native, Dies

Jackson LeBleu, 60, World War I veteran and a native of Chloe community, died at 4:30 p.m. yesterday at the veterans' hospital in Alexandria.

The body is at the home of a brother, Pascal LeBleu, on Goos boulevard. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception.

Burial in charge of the Hixson funeral home will be in Graceland cemetery.

Born on February 11, 1890, Mr. LeBleu was a carpenter by trade. He had resided around Lake Charles for his entire life and served with the army for three years during World War I.

Survivors include six brothers, Pascal, Joseph, Sullivan, Lee and Clem LeBleu, all of Lake Charles, Skeem LeBleu of Iowa, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Daigle of Sulphur and Mrs. Rose Daigle of Lake Charles, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Rosary services will be conducted at the LeBleu home on Goos boulevard tonight.

Jacqueline "Jackie" Rogers, 77, longtime local resident departed this life Sunday April 16th at E.T York Care Center following an extended illness. She was born in Coral Gables, having moved to this area twenty-one years ago from West Palm Beach. She was a Para Legal by profession. She and her husband Jerry are members of First United Methodist Church of High Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jackson P and Grace Walker Dunagan.

Survivors include; her husband Jerry Rogers of Fort White and two sons; Jerry Tankersley of Fort White, Craig (Laurie) Tankersley of Hendersonville, Tennessee. A daughter: Cindy (Walter) Silverstein of Vero Beach, one grandson: David (Jennifer) Yates, and two great grandchildren, Dylan and Madison Yates.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday April 22 at First United Methodist Church of High Springs. Interment will be in the High Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday April 21, 5:00- 6:00 pm at Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs (386-454-2444).

Jacqueline Marie Clements, 45, died Monday, March 31, 2003, in a local hospital.

She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, and she taught catechism at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She sang in the St. Martin de Porres Chapel choir.

She is survived by her mother, Joyce Savoie of Lake Charles; one daughter, Tara Jeraldlyn Clements of Lake Charles; one brother, Johnny Newsom of Lake Charles; and two sisters, Patricia King of Moss Bluff and Delena Griffing of Lake Charles.

Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, from Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. John Giles will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation is 3-10 p.m. today - with a Scripture service and rosary at 5 p.m. by Deacon Garrett Caraway - and from 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Jacquelyn "Jackie" Helton Crnkovic (a former resident of Hemphill, Texas) passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at her residence in Bridge City, Texas.

Jackie was born on November 2, 1937 in Waynesboro, Tennessee to Lawrence and Lillian Helton. She had worked many years as the Office Manager for Property Damage Appraisers before her retirement.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to cook for others. She also enjoyed flowers and music.

Jackie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Fred Crnkovic of Bridge City; daughters, Deborah Crnkovic/Jerry Vickers of Orange, Texas and Kellie Obey and husband, Ron, of Magnolia, Texas; brother, Lawrence Helton and wife, Marie, Of Rayburn Country, Texas; grandson, Seth Obey of Magnolia; and several nieces, nephews, and Braxston Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jonell Helton.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Daryl Segura officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Crow Walker; five sons, Ronnie Walker, Glen Walker, Dale Walker and Paul Walker, all of Monticello, and Larry Walker of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; five daughters, Gloria Adkisson of Bryant Texas, Belinda Nichols of Midland, Texas, Wanda Summerford and Diane Johns, both of Monticello, and Pam Lillian of Canyon County, California; two brothers, Robert Walker of Dell City, Oklahoma, and Maxie Minchew of Texas; two sisters, Joan Langue of Oklahoma and Lanell Bullard of Colorado; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home at Monticello with the Rev. Buddy Lemons officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery in Drew County.

The former owner of Simmers Furniture and Appliance Repair, he passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Provost Hospital in Donaldsonville. He was 79, three months from his 80th birthday, and a resident and native of White Castle. He was a former member of the National Guard. Visiting at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, on Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joey Angeles, celebrant. Entombment in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Virginia Ann Maggio Simmers; a son, James M. "Lil Mule" Simmers Jr.; a sister, Sherry Simmers Gueho and husband E.L; a brother, Bill Simmers; two grandchildren, Eric Anthony and Shane Patrick Simmers and their mother, Judy O. Simmers; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriele Joseph and Evelyn Kate Simmers. Preceded in death by a son, Mitch Simmers; parents, Harry Sr. and Mary Crow Simmers; and brother, Harry Frank Simmers Jr. Pallbearers will be Bobby Gueho, Eric, Shane, Ronnie, Zack, Michael and Billy Simmers. He was a former member of the White Castle Lions Club. He loved to work in his yard, was an avid LSU and Saints fan, and enjoyed taking care of his dog, Snoopy. James "Bo" Lowrance, 91, of Winnie, died Tuesday, February 25, 2020. He was born on August 23, 1928, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Bessie Strode Lowrance and Jack Lowrance. Bo was a rice farmer putting in his first crop in 1957 with his winnings from being the Steer Wrestling Champion at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He continued to farm and later years farmed with his son and son-in-law until 1981. Prior to the PRCA, Bo was a member of the Turtles Association and still holds his PRCA Gold Card.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Helen Stanley Lowrance; daughters, Daina Lowrance Beck and her husband, Roy and Julie Lowrance Pryor; son, Reid Lowrance and his wife, Tanya; grandchildren, Weston Pryor and his wife, Leslie; Jack Lowrance; and James Reid Lowrance; great-granddaughter, Harley Rae Pryor; sister, Betty Jean Cowan; stepchildren, Jodi Morrison and Randy Godeau and their families along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jacquelyn Lowrance Lowery.

A gathering of Mr. Lowrance's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2020, at First Baptist Church, 120 Pear Avenue, Winnie, under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020, at First Baptist Church, with his interment to follow with military honors at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

LAKE CHARLES - James "Jim" Desmond Files, Sr., 83, of Moss Bluff died Thursday, January 22, 2009, in a local hospital.

Mr. Files was born Gorman, Texas, raised and educated in Mission, Texas and had lived 22 years in the Lake Charles area. He retired a Drilling Consultant after 50 years in the Oil Filed. He worked primarily for Williams Drilling Company and Stone Petroleum and for some time owned and operated Files Petroleum Consultants.

Mr. Files enjoyed watching and talking about football and NASCAR. He also enjoyed having exotic birds as house pets.

He will be most remembered as a loving father and wonderful grandfather. He leaves to honor his memory, three sons, James Desmond Files, Jr. and wife, Denise, Johnny D. Files and wife, Angie, all of Youngsville, and Michael Lee Files of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Adele Raye Files, Jacy Lee Files, Baily Lyn Coscarart, of Bosco, and Dillon Michael Files, all of Youngsville; one great-grandchildren on the way, Marlie Coscarart; and two brothers, Patrick H. Files of Georgetown, Texas, and Wiley Files, of Winchester Bay, Ore.

He also leaves, six step-children, Roger and Shera Materne, J.D. Materne, Harold Materne and wife, Mary, Darrell Materne and wife, Leslie, Sandra Gibson, and Gail Ducote; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Alva Crowe Files; his first wife and mother of his children, Joyce Warner Files and his loving wife, Lois Materne Files.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Mickey Byrd and Mr. Alfred Antoine will officiate. Burial will be in Creel Cemetery in Bel, LA. Visitation Friday will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.

Pallbearers for services will be Mike Larriviere, Jhon Coscarart, Ron Brazzel, Otis Collins, David Johnson and Grizz Manry.

James "Jim" Wilcox Sr.

Graveside services for James "Jim" Wilcox, Sr., age of 76 of Lubbock, Texas and formerly of Seminole, will be held Monday, September 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Gaines County Cemetery, 311 CR 301, Seminole, Texas. His longtime friend Tommy Lawson will officiate. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole. The family will greet friends on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home, located at 410 NW 21stStreet in Seminole.

Jim Wilcox was born November 15, 1943 in Gorman, Texas to O'Neita (Kerby) and Raymond Wilcox. He met the love of his life, Pat (Scogin) Wilcox in high school and immediately knew he would spend the rest of his life with her. They married on October 14, 1961 and spent the next 57 years together until her passing on March 16, 2019. Jim owned and operated a machine shop in Seminole for many years and then moved to Carlsbad to start with IMC Potash (Mosaic) in 1967 as a welder/machinist. He soon became a supervisor in maintenance and worked as Safety Manager for many years, working his way up to the Head of Human Resources. He also owned and operated Jim's Car Wash in Carlsbad, New Mexico for over 30 years. Jim retired for a few years and was able to travel and see the country, taking along his beautiful wife, grandsons (Trevor and Kelby) and his precious dog, Sadie. After traveling for those few years, he was asked to become a consultant with Mosaic Potash and did so for many years. He then again retired at the age of 73.

Jim Wilcox was an active and contributing member to his community. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carlsbad and The Elks Lodge 1558, and was President of Otis Water for 14 years. He was appointed to and served as Commissioner of the Interstate Stream Commission for the State of New Mexico. He started the Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP) in Carlsbad and also implemented the first drug testing at the Potash Mines. He always wanted everyone to be safe and did everything in his power to make that happen.

Jim was a kind man, generous and tough, but fair. He expected you to always do the right thing and make good choices. He wanted everyone to exceed their potential and would do whatever he could to help make that happen.

Jim Wilcox passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Wilcox in 2019; and two sisters, Laphane Burkett and husband Salty, and Betty Jean Kidd and husband Frank. He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Mathis and husband Donn, and Nikki Reyes and husband David, both of Lubbock, Texas; one son Jim Wilcox, Jr. of Carlsbad, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Stephen Mathis, Mandy Mathis, Wendy Ballard (Mitchell), Trevor Mathis (Whitney), Kelby Mathis (Penny), Garret Reyes, Ross Reyes and Riley Reyes; six great-grandchildren, Caelyn Mathis, Garrett, Ethan and Jocelyn Ballard, Archer Mathis and Deegan Mathis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia on Friday, August 19, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Friday, led by Rev. Keith Landry. Rev. Steven LeBlanc will Celebrate the Mass. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Jim "Ace" Nathan Sandoz was born in Iberia Parish on January 3, 1924 to the late O'Dalie Segura and Leonce P. Sandoz. He was a 1941 graduate of St. Peters College, where he was an All American Six-Man football player. He proudly served our country in the United States Army as a Captain during World War II, and was involved in the Normandy Invasion. Ace owned and operated Ace Uniforms in New Iberia for 28 years, and was a staunch supporter of CHS Panther Club. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and NIRD Softball Hall of Fame. He was a basketball referee for many years, and was active in the Acadiana 500 Tricycle Races. Ace is survived by a daughter, Bertha Sandoz Machado and husband Bob of New Bedford, MA; two grandchildren, Susan M. Green of MA, and Bobby Machado of FL; two great grandchildren, Kylie Green and Christopher Green; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Hebert Sandoz; three brothers, Harold Sandoz, Wilton Sandoz, and Elmo Sandoz; and three sisters, Beulah S. Viator, Irene S. Segura, and Mildred Blanchard Savoie. Pallbearers will be Johnny Beyt, Bobby Banna, Raymond Blanco, Jimmy Dykes, Bobby Sandoz, Eddie Sandoz, Larry Viator, and Jerry Blanchard. James 'Jimmy' E. Abbott

DICKINSON - James "Jimmy" E. Abbott, 74, passed away at his home in Dickinson, Texas on Thursday, February 15, 2001.

Jimmy was born in Galveston, Texas, on October 18, 1926, and resided in Dickinson since 1950. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired from his real estate business, Abbott Realty, in 1988. Mr. Abbott served as the first village marshall of Dickinson from 1977 to 1978. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Fifty Club of Galveston County and served as president in 1995. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Dickinson and most recently Trinity Baptist Church in League City, Texas. Jimmy was a loving and-devoted husband and father. The special joy of his life was his two grandchildren, Lauren and Christopher.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Louise; daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Mikel Gavin; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Don Suderman; and two grandchildren, Lauren Suderman and Christopher Gavin. He is also survived by brother, VA Abbott of Fort Worth; sisters, Elizabeth Collier, Jane Pinte, and Lillian Allison, all of Galveston; special nephew and namesake, James E. Abbott of Las Vegas, Nevada, numerous nieces and nephews, family members and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2001 from 4:00 to 6 :00 p.m. in the chapel of James Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Dickinson with the Rev. Clifford Poe and the Rev. Randy Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Lemon, Joe Max Taylor, Norman Trainer, Ray Lowe, Joseph "Skippy" Pinanchio and Marvin Martin.
